#ᴛʙᴛ Pandora: The World of Avatar is so beautiful. Lush and green it’s a great spot for photos and to enjoy the vibes. Make sure you pop back in at night to see it all lit up! 😍

Welcome to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

As you may have guessed this resort is themed to a lodge on a wildlife reserve in Africa. This resort is shaped like an oversized U and has a large Savannah viewable from many rooms. The Savannah can also be viewed from the main lobby and there is an outdoor viewing area.

The main lobby is host to the largest collection of African art outside of Africa. In this area you will be able to complete your check in, shop at Zawadi Marketplace, or dine. Jiko and Boma are table service dining, with quick service dining at the Mara. Victoria Falls Lounge has a light bites and cocktail menu.

Uzima Springs is the second largest pool on Disney property. This is where you will find the pool bar, a water slide and a kids wading pool. There are also two hot tubs, the Hakuna Matata playground, Zahanti Fitness Center and Timon & Pumbaa’s Fun and Games Arcade.

Complimentary bus transportation will take you to all four theme parks, two water parks and Disney Springs.

The rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge have two queen or one king size bed. Animal Kingdom Lodge is also part of Disney’s Vacation Club and has villas that can accommodate between 5-12 guests.

Today’s Pro Tip: Share meals! Portions at Disney are quite big and if you share a meal, you can try more! My last trip we shared every snack and most of our meals and we got to try a lot of new things!

Sometimes you have to treat yourself! Today’s Foodie Friday is from Le Cellier Steakhouse where I had my birthday dinner last month! This is the filet mignon with the mushroom risotto and it was delicious!

Todays is my favourite ride but in Disneyland! The ride itself is similar to Walt Disney World but the outside mansion is completely different and gorgeous!

These hotels are beautifully themed, large and offer amenities not available in the other two categories.

One of my best pro tips is to get a power bank and put it in your park bag everyday. It’s easy to drain your phone battery during a day at the parks - your taking photos, using the My Disney Experience app, not to mention probably checking social media during your time in line! There are certain spots where you can charge your phone in the parks but you don’t want to be stuck in one spot! With a power bank you can keep exploring!

Welcome to Foodie Friday! This is the Zazu Dole Whip Float for the 30th anniversary of the Lion King! It is lime Dole whip with sprite, coconut and blue curaçao syrup with a chocolate coin. It was so refreshing on a hot day!

Did you know that if you purchase Multi Pass (or Single Pass) and there is a ride photo you get to keep it? This is a huge perk as sometimes those ride photos are hilarious!

Welcome to Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside!

This resort is themed around the Mississippi bayou and has an earthy nature vibe.

This resort has two different sections. Magnolia Bend are large buildings that look like plantation homes complete with sprawling lawns and white pillars. Alligator Bayou are two story buildings that look like rustic cottages. There are no elevators on the Alligator Bayou side.

The main arrival area is themed as a riverboat dock called the Sassagoula Steamboat Company. This is where you will check in, dine at the Riverside Mill (the quick service location) or Boatwright’s Dining Hall (the table service location) or shop at Fulton’s General Store.

Ol’ Man Island is the pool area complete with swimming pool, hot tub, kiddie pool, wading pool and water slide. If you are looking for a quiet space, there are five smaller pools spread between Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou.

Complimentary bus transportation will take you to the two water parks and all four theme parks. There is boat transportation to Disney Springs.

The rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter have been recently refreshed and have two queen or one king size bed. There are rooms that can sleep up to 5 with a child size pull down bed.

Port Orleans Riverside is also home to the Royal Rooms. These rooms are themed to royalty and feature colourful touches throughout.

#ᴛʙᴛ We did some exploring in the Norway pavilion at Epcot! I know some Norse mythology but it mostly comes from the Marvel movies. It was nice to be able to read about the actual Gods - Loki, Thor, Odin and Freya in the Stave Church Gallery.

Welcome to Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter! This is one of my favourite resorts!

This resort is themed around the French Quarter in New Orleans and has a Mardi Gras vibe.

This resort is different from other moderate resorts because it is very compact - there are 7 three story buildings (with elevators) - and a main pool and arrival area.

The main arrival area is in Port Orleans Square which is where you will check in, dine at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, or S**t Cat’s Jazz Lounge and Cafe (this is where the beignets live!), or shop at Jackson Square Gifts & Desires.

Dubloon Lagoon is the pool area complete with a sea serpent water slide and cartoon alligators keeping watch. Mardi Grogs, the pool bar can be found here.

Complimentary bus transportation will take you to the two water parks and all four theme parks. There is boat transportation to Disney Springs.

The rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter have been recently refreshed and contain two queens or one king size bed.

Pro Tip: Relax! You’re on vacation! On my last trip we got up early and went to Magic Kingdom - then left in the afternoon! We had lunch at Steakhouse 71 and then dessert at Tambu Lounge before heading back in for more fun! It was such a nice break! If you have kids, heading back to your resort for a pool break is also great!

This is the Zazu ice cream sandwich in celebration of 30 years of the Lion King! It’s two sugar cookies with vanilla soft serve and it was delicious! It’s at Tamu Tamu at Disneys Animal Kingdom for a limited time!

Welcome to Disney’s Coronado Springs!

This resort has a Spanish inspired theme and is the only moderate resort with a convention center, a fitness center and a health spa.

The guest rooms are divided into four sections with their own architectural styles. Casitas are three or four story buildings surrounded by fountains and topiaries and a quiet pool.

Ranchos are two or three story buildings with a more ranch style, including rocks and streams. This section also has its own quiet pool.

Cabanas are in two story buildings reminiscent of the coast of Mexico and most rooms have views of the lake. There is a sandy shoreline as well as a quiet pool.

Gran Destino tower was recently constructed and is based on Destino, a film by Salvador Dali.

The main arrival area is in Gran Destino Tower, which is where along with El Centro you will find most amenities, including 10 restaurants and lounges, and Panchito’s Gifts and Sundries.

The Dig Site is the main recreation area and where you will find the activity pool complete with a Mayan pyramid and water slide. This is also where the arcade and playground are located.

Complimentary bus transportation will take you to Disney Springs, two water parks and all four theme parks.

The rooms at Coronado Springs have been recently refreshed and contain two queens or one king size bed. They also have suites of various sizes sleeping between 4-8 guests.

I can’t believe that Tower of Terror is 30 years old today! It was my Dads absolute favourite ride - this is the photo from our last ride. As you can see I’m terrified and he’s having the time of his life!

It’s Foodie Friday and I want to shout from the rooftops about this bread service from Sanaa at Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village. It is 5 different types of naan bread and 9 different sauces. It is one of my favourite meals on Disney property and is perfect for sharing!

Did you know that the Grand Floridian had Afternoon Tea? It was on the main floor with all of these gorgeous windows and beautiful teapots and teacups. It was magical. My fingers are crossed that they’ll bring afternoon tea back soon!

We are at Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort this week. This resort is quite large with their guest rooms divided into six villages - Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad North and Trinidad South. Each village has their own amenities including a pool, laundry, playground and parking.
One key to remember at Caribbean Beach is that there are no elevators on property.
The main arrival area is called Old Port Royale. This is where you will find your registration desk, dining, shopping and Fuentes del Morro pool - which looks like a pirate castle complete with two water slides.
There are four dining options - Centertown Market and Spyglass Grill for quick service options, Sebastian’s Bistro for full table service and Banana Cabana, the pool bar.
Complimentary bus transportation will take you to Disney Springs, two water parks and Magic and Animal Kingdom. Each section has their own bus stop, plus an internal bus to take you to Old Port Royale.
Caribbean Beach is home to the Skyliner Hub where you can hop on to visit Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
The rooms at Caribbean Beach have been recently refurbished with some themed to the Little Mermaid. Most rooms sleep up to four with two Queen beds, however some rooms can sleep five with a child size pull down bed.
The Little Mermaid themed rooms are a bit different with 1 queen size bed, and 1 queen size Murphy bed. There are also rooms with the child size pull down.

We’ve finished up our tour of Disney’s Value resorts and we’re moving on to their Moderate category.
These resorts have a few more perks when it comes to resort amenities while providing theming in a subtle way.
Our first stop next week will be Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort!

Welcome to Packing 101!
It’s summertime and it’s going to be extremely hot. I’m away for 4 days so I’m packing light and taking a carry on only.
Photo 1 has PJs, 4 pairs of yoga shorts, 8 pairs of socks and 4 white/light coloured tees. I always take double the amount of socks I need and there’s no way I’m wearing dark coloured shirts in the summer.
Photo 2 has my bathing suit and a dark towel (I have purple hair and Disney has white towels 🤣), a romper for my birthday dinner and two wet cool towels.
Photo 3 has an extra bag, my toiletries kit (I know it’s the wrong IP for Disney) , my travel jewelry case and the shoes I’m packing.
Photo 4 the completely packed and closed suitcase! Pro tip - I like to roll my clothes as it takes up less space and I do each outfit together so I can just grab it and get ready.
I’ll do another packing post before my next vacation to show how I would pack at a different time of year.

Today’s Foodie Friday is also a bit of a Flashback Friday! This is the Minnie Mouse dome cake they had at Gaston’s Tavern for a limited time! It is a pistachio cake with vanilla citrus mousse and a strawberry glaze with chocolate ears. It was delicious! I love a dome cake of any character so you might just see a few more!
