This contemporary garment draws inspiration from both the classic kimona and the pandiling. The knee-length pandiling features a vibrant woven basket print in shades of red, blue, white, and yellow. Delicate pleats of inabel fabric, reminiscent of a mosquito net, cascade down the back, while ruffled edges add a touch of whimsy and movement. The kimona piece boasts intricate embroidery of clay pots, or "banga," a signature craft of San Nicolas. This fusion of elements celebrates the town's renowned industries of handcrafted baskets and pottery. The overall design serves as a beautiful homage to the industrious spirit of the San Nicoleños.

"Apuy" means Fire

The term damili or earthenware is in recognition of centuries old industry which is the identity and source of pride and inspiration of its people and the Municipality of San Nicolas.

The five (5) sculpted banga represent the attributes of the San Nicoleño - industrious, persevering, patient, resourceful, and most of all God-fearing.

The gold leaf details symbolize the good fortune brought by Damili to the people.

And the moving fire represents the strong-will of every San Nicoleño to live on with the tradition of panagdamili.
