Join us for our Fall Open House to kick off a November to Remember!

When: Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm

Where: The White Horse at Grey Rocks (1509 Caroline Street, 37409)

“All Volunteers Invited for the Southeast Conservation Corp and the "Lookout hiking Club"

Following the Southeast Conservation Corps’ Volunteer Day at historic Craven’s House on Lookout Mountain, we invite everyone to come just down the hill to Grey Rocks for a tour of this beautiful 1917 Arts and Crafts home located on the battlefield and recently restored to its former glory. Enjoy an open house tour, wings, and wine just before kick offs.

On Saturday, November 2, between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm, Southeast Conservation Corps interns are looking for volunteers to install signs for the Great Eastern Trail, part of which runs through Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Cravens House, 1060 Cravens Terrace, on Lookout Mountain.

The Lookout Hiking Club is having an impromptu get together Saturday Noon at Grey Rocks above Ruby Falls. John and Pat Wilson will be with us for lunch to take a look at the restoration of the historic home in progress and probably talk about Lookout Mountain history. You’re all invited to see the house from 10 ‘Til 3, finger food to start with lunch at noon. David and Claire Hawley will also by there in spite of David’s recent cataract surgery. Hope you can join us for some historic fun right next to Cravens House at 1509 Caroline Street. Tomorrow June 15th. Garnet

Apologizing for the late notice, but a short hike on the new "Bluff Trial" is being planned for tomorrow (Saturday September 19th) at 212 Fairy Trail on Lookout Mountain. All Lookout Hiking Club friends are invited to meet at 4:30 PM at the home on Fairy Trail (pictured) and walk down the bluff among unique rock formations to visit what appear to be petroglyphs carved into the rock ages ago. A Bar-B-Que dinner will follow at the house. Sturdy hiking shoes are highly recommended. Those not up for the hike can enjoy many unique formations from the top of the bluff and enjoy food and refreshments. More photos to follow.
