Laurel County Barracudas We are a local swim team that strives to make competitive swimming a fun and rewarding experience for all swimmers.

Congratulations Barracudas! You proved yourself yesterday at the conference championship meet. Not only did you finish 4th out of 13 teams in a new conference, but you displayed great character and sportsmanship. I had so many coaches, swimmers, and parents from other teams compliment you all about your competitiveness, your positivity, and your love for your team. I responded each time by telling them that we have “kids that love this sport and their teammates”. You all have a coach, 3 assistant coaches, parents & grandparents, and a community that love you and support you! We are so proud of your individual accomplishments and your team accomplishments! We love you.

Parents & Grandparents:
Thank you all so much all season long for your continued support. You have stepped up when called upon to volunteer your time to make this program what it is. We are grateful that we have such an active group of supporters for our swimmers. It takes a lot of time, planning and preparation to make this swim program successful, but seeing these kids achieve success like they have makes it all worth it! We are blessed to have a great swim family!!!

Please enjoy some down time the rest of this week and the swim team will get back at it next week.

2024 Bluegrass Swim Conference Championship Meet at Falling Springs

Falling Springs Center
275 Beasley Drive
Versailles, KY 40383

10 & Under Warmups- 8:15am-8:40am in Lanes 4 &5 (swimmers must check in with Coach Kyle no later than 8:00am) Meet starts at 8:50am

11 & Over Warmups- 1:50pm-2:20pm in Lanes 1, 2, & 3 (swimmers must check in with Coach Kyle no later than 1:00pm) Meet starts at 2:30pm

Heat sheets will be available for sale to the parents for $5.00 and meet t-shirts will be available for purchase for $15.00 at the t-shirt/heat sheet table. Sales will be cash only!

Tomorrow will be a LONG day but it is sure to be exciting! Bring snacks, drinks, chairs, canopies, & extra towels. Swimmers be sure to stay hydrated!

It’s meet day! Join us for our final home meet of the season as we host the Richmond Riptides. Just as a reminder:

-No setting up canopies, chairs, etc until after 4pm. Canopies must be up against the fence!
-There will be no concessions.
-Heat sheets will be available for $1
-Warmups are at 5pm for Barracuda swimmers
-Kiddie pool, diving board, & deep end of pool are off limits before, during and after the meet.

It’s going to be an exciting meet! Go Barracudas!!!

If your swimmer(s) is swimming in the home meet on Wednesday July 3rd please send swimmers name, age, and events no later than Tuesday at noon. We will be sending out information regarding the Bluegrass Swim Conference Championship Meet as we receive it.

Evening Practice 7pm-9pm
W- Home Swim Meet against Wi******er Waverunners
Warmups 5:00pm Meet starts at 6pm
Th- No Morning Practice
Evening Practice 7pm-9pm
F- Practice Morning 8:30am-10am

If your swimmer is swimming at this meet send swimmer name, age, and what events they want to swim in. Remember, swimmers must swim in at least 2 regular season meets to be eligible for conference on July 8th!

We will need 12 timers for this meet (6 first half, 6 second half), 2 runners (1 first half, 1 second half), 2 clerk of course. We do not have the pool area reserved until after 4pm so please do not start setting up canopies, chairs, etc before then!

Swim Meet tonight at Cedar Rapids Dolphins. Address is 829 Cedar Rpds Acc Rd Mt. Vernon, KY 40456. Warmups at 5:30pm. Meet starts at 6pm. Swimmers will need to check in with Coach Kyle or one of assistant coaches when you arrive. Bring your canopy, chairs, extra towels, and money for heat sheet & concessions!

Cedar Rapids pool is an outdoor, 4 lane pool. You will want to bring a canopy, chairs, and extra towels. They will have concessions (hamburgers & hot dogs) as well as heat sheets to purchase. We will need 8 timers for this meet (4 first half, 4 second half).
