Opened in the 1950s, Luyong has been serving Cantonese dishes that has been fulfilling the appetites of families and has been hosting momentous events for ,mostly, locals’ soiree . From different noodle dishes to spring rolls, Luyong’s menu are full of homegrown recipes spiced up with rich stories.

Among the most notable food staple for us Pinoys during Christmas season is the P**o Bumbong and Biningka! 🎄🇵🇭
P**o Bumbong made with sticky glutinous rice called pirurutong, which has a dark purple hue. Bamboo tubes are filled with the grounded rice, and after minutes of steaming, the p**o bumbong is taken out of the tube with the help of a buttered stick, and placed on a banana leaf. Traditionally, it is served with a spreading of margarine, muscovado sugar, and grated coconut on top. Whereas Bubingka, is made traditionally made from galapong (milled glutinous rice), coconut milk, margarine, and sugar.

A great bowl of ramen 🍜 is built upon a few significant components. There’s hot broth, fresh-made noodles, and the toppings. As far as the toppings go, no one can resist a perfectly cooked ramen egg that sits alongside sliced chashu, sheet of nori, and green onions.
These amazing Ramen eggs are Japanese soft-boiled eggs known for its ultra custardy jammy egg yolk and punchy umami flavor.

When it comes to that morning cup of joe, often times we forego the thick mouth feel of espresso and go for the delicate- tasting coffee ☕️
One of my favourite ways to make coffee is the pourover – complex, strong, dark, like every mysterious stranger you’ve ever fancied. It’s easy to do at home too: all you need is filters and a pour-over cone (experts say you should pour from the kettle in a slow anticlockwise direction). This is probably the most labour-intensive way to make filter coffee, but produces a damn fine cup.

This is how we like to cook our Australian Ribeye from @cookinginafoodmarket The most important thing is to make sure your pan is really hot and maintain that heat while the wood injects this delicious smokey flavor to the meat. 3 mins on one side, and 90s on the other to get that medium rare.
