GAME FAIR TRIP 2022

This is tomorrow evening's menu for our group when we arrive at the Worcester Whitehouse Hotel. I can't wait to see the Saturday and Sunday evening menus!

STARTERS

THE GAME FAIR 2022

It's just three more days until we head off the The Game Fair at Ragley Hall. The weather there has been good and the show is nearly completely built with exhibitors rolling onto site from today. I have received confirmation from all going that they will meet the coach at one of the following:
Lough View Park and Share (Craigavon) at 05.00
Guilford Road, Lurgan, at 05.15
The Coach Inn, Banbridge at 05.30
Dublin Road, Newry at 06.00
Stena Terminal, Port of Dublin at 07.00

If there are any changes to the pick-up location you have given me then please contact me immediately.

The ferry departs Dublin at 08.15 and docks in Holyhead at 12.30. Depending upon he traffic on the M6 South and a comfort stop on the motorway, we should be at our hotel shortly before 18.00. Dinner has been arranged for 19.30 that evening.

Seamus Agnew has arranged his Annual Music Quiz for the Saturday evening after dinner. He tells me that rounds will feature the music of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. Possibly even a country and western and a TV commercial round too! The hotel has ensured me that there will be sufficient Irish Whiskey at the bar!

We are looking forward to seeing you all on our coach and enjoying a fantastic weekend at the Game Fair Together.

WE ARE HEADING TO THE GAME FAIR

It's just over four weeks until we head off to the Game Fair at Ragley Hall. The months of planning and organisation are over and we at Country Image Tours look forward to a relaxing trip to the venue and a great weekend at Europe's biggest countryside event.

Remember, the first pick-up is at Craigavon at 05.00 then Lurgan at 05.15, Banbridge at 05.30. Newry is the next pick-up at 06.00 then finally, Stena Terminal, Dublin Port at 07.00.

It will be good to see our regulars on the trip who will be joined this year by some first-time visitors who we know will mix well in our group and enjoy the event and our acommodation at the Worcester Whitehouse Hotel. And.......before you comment, yes I have requested that the hotel has an ample stock of Irish Whiskey!

GAME FAIR TRIP 2022

With just over a month until we travel to The Game Fair at Ragley Hall, I will need to close the applications and release the double/twin bedroom that I am holding just in case anyone is still interested in travelling with us. This is shaping up to be a huge show at Ragley Hall and one that I certainly would not want to miss. We have been in the wilderness for the last three years with the Covid-19 situation as far as game fairs are concerned. Now it our turn to put this behind us and enjoy the largest event of its kind in Europe. If you are interested then please contact me immediately. The last two ferry places and the hotel room will be released early next week. It is a great opportunity to attend a great event and I am sure someone will want to experience this with like-minded country sports people.

Country Image Tours is delighted to welcome along to this year's Game Fair Trip a number of our friends from the Repuplic of Ireland. They are regular visitors having travelled with us many times. FALCONRY AT THE GAME FAIR

Fancy testing your skills and giving yourself a chance of winning an Isuzu for 6 months, amongst other great prizes? There are some great challenges on the E. J. Churchill Shooting Line for you to try your hand at.
The Falconry Village is a hugely popular part of The Game Fair, and whether you are an experienced falconer or simply want to see these majestic birds up close, this is an area not to be missed.

Falconry is one of the oldest (2000 years and counting) and thus the longest surviving of all field sports; its inclusion by UNESCO as being of ‘intangible cultural heritage’ is one falconers are exceptionally proud of.

Managed by CJ’s Birds of Prey, The Falconry Village will include its own, dedicated full-size falconry arena, where a spectacular variety of birds will be flown throughout the day.

TERRIER RACING AT THE GAME FAIR

The Main Arena at Ragley Hall will welcome the Countryside Display Team, a family affair headed by Nigel Varney, wife Elaine, daughter Kelly and their team of dogs. They are demonstrating the ever-popular Game Fair Terrier Racing but with a difference – the feisty terriers will be running in a timed trial, supported by the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and the East Anglian Staffy Rescue Team.
Don’t be surprised if you get the chance to race your own terriers, too, to demonstrate that these four-legged friends have been bred for speed and to catch ground game.

YORKSHIRE SHEPHERDESS AT GAME FAIR

Amanda Owen - the Yorkshire Shepherdess will be taking the reins at the James Martin VIP Enclosure Restaurant on Sunday at The Game Fair. Naturally Lamb is on the Sunday Menu!

The Game Fair’s VIP package is the perfect way to combine relaxation, amazing food, and a base to retreat to after all that shopping. THE WORCESTER WHITEHOUSE HOTEL

Our base for the duration of the three-night trip to the 2022 Game Fair will be the Worcester Whitehouse Hotel. Built in the 16th century, this classic townhouse hotel is adjacent to Foregate Street train station and a short walk from Worcester City Centre. The hotel is just a 30-minute coach trip from Ragley Hall.

As guests, we will have free access to the Leisure Club in the hotel and the Wi-Fi network. The accommodation is first class with a mixture of twin, double and single bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms having been reserved for our party. A full English or a Continental breakfast is available each morning and, upon our return from the Game Fair, we will enjoy a three-course dinner with tea or coffee. After dinner it’s a time for relaxing and reflecting upon the day’s proceedings at the Game Fair in the comfort of well-appointed lounges.

Final arrangements for the 2022 Game Fair Trip are now firmly in place.
Departing Craigavon at 05.00 on Friday 29 July to catch 08.15 Stena sailing from Dublin to Holyhead. Pick-up points are Lurgan, Banbridge and Dublin Port.
Returning Monday 1 August on an afternoon sailing, arriving in Craigavon at 19.30.

Well know for his excellent planning, beautiful coaches, great driving and, of course, his dry wit, it will be a pleasure to have him at the wheel again for our four day trip to the Game Fair at Ragley Hall.

Great news just in last evening about our trip to Ragley Hall for the 2022 Game Fair. It's confirmation that we have booked the ferry from Dublin to Holyhead for the morning sailing on Friday 29 July 2022. Our return will be from Holyhead to Dublin on Monday 1 August on a mid-afternoon sailing.

I am delighted to let you know that a trip to The Game Fair at Ragley Hall is being organised this year. After two years in "game fair wilderness" because of Covid-19 we are on the road again.
The plan is to depart on the morning of 29th July and return on Monday 1 August 2002. I will continue to update the page as the arrangements are confirmed.
