Locronan. I was advised to visit here by a local guide I use in the day job, and it’s easy to see why.
It’s a picture postcard wee village, NW of Quimper, complete with 15th C buildings, more than a few hydrangeas and all possible touristy wares.
It’s approaching the middle of July and still it was freezing with flat white overcast skies again - here’s hoping for a change as we head a bit further south.
Chateau de Fougères.
Enjoyable and chilled place to visit. Only €25 for a family of four. Great setting in the centre of town, flanked by cafés and creperies. Walk the remparts for attractive views of Fougère. Pretty garden within the centre complete with artichokes.

Carcassonne medieval city in 2018. This art installation was commissioned to celebrate its 20 years as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Soirée Saint Malo.
Walking through the countryside to the local village on market day is comfortably in the Top 10 of France’s greatest hits. As is a café. L’Art de Vivre. Not sure about a baguette vending machine though!
