My last view of Sleeping Beauty Castle. 😭

Disney California Adventure closed at 10pm, and my husband took the littles back to the hotel.

Disneyland Park was open until midnight! At 9:55 we did the IncrediCoaster. Then we park hopped and did Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Rise of the Resistance, Millennium Falcon, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 2x in a row, ending at 12:02am!

Love having a teenager to stay out late with, especially on the last night of vacation!

We had to get on Haunted Mansion Holiday one last time! We used a bonus Lightning Lane from our VIP tour guide, since this ride is virtual queue only.

The line to Cozy Cone to get Mac n cheese in a bread cone was huge! But the called our number for our mobile order in less than 5 minutes! Score. My daughter approves of this dinner choice, and asked me to make it at home for her 😁

Might as well visit her next door neighbor, Mickey! I am still bitter that their houses were torn down in WDW. I’m glad we’ve gotten our kids to Disneyland multiple times when they were tiny to experience the excitement of going to Mickey and Minnie’s homes! (And Goofy’s, Donald’s boat, etc! Toon Town is so much fun!!!!)

Everyone else wanted to relax at the hotel, but my mini and I stayed in the parks. We did some rides, watched the Beauty and the Beast show. I needed a Halloween themed dessert that just appeared in the parks!

A big benefit to staying on Disney property in Disneyland and in WDW is proximity to the parks. You can split up and take breaks - follow your family’s cues. There’s no point in pushing everyone to exhaustion.

We stalked Mando and Grogu for DAYS. They’re vague about where they come out, never come out on time, and don’t come out if it’s too hot. This was our mission to find them the last day!!!

We took a raft to Pirate’s Lair, formerly Tom Sawyer Island. Most trips we skip it, but with it closing in WDW, we felt like we should make some memories there while my kids are still little and want to play. They appreciated the ball cage from Pirates of the Caribbean. We spent around 30 minutes playing there. It was pretty empty, so very little waiting, and a good way to get some energy out.

It was another lazy morning on our 5th and final park day - we really took our time and saw lots of characters! Mary Poppins danced for us, then was seen later strolling with Bert, and again on the carousel with her band. We saw Aladdin and Loki too.

Disneyland hotels don’t have the quick service options WDW hotels do. We didn’t want to stop in the fireworks crowd to get a snack leaving the park. We had a sweet tooth on the walk back to Pixar Place, and we spotted a really cute Halloween dessert cart at the Grand Californian. This cookie was cute and delicious, and we loved the display! Much better than grabbing a candy bar in the gift shop!

The big Disneyland debate - which Monte Cristo sandwich is better - Blue Bayou or Cafe Orleans? This was our first time at Cafe Orleans. I usually don’t book it because most seating is outdoors, and we come in late August when it can be 95 degrees. But I had to try this sandwich! The pommes frites were fantastic. Best fries I’ve had on either coast at Disney!!! However, we felt the sandwich was too doughy and greasy. Blue Bayou wins! For food and atmosphere! My kids really loved their Mac and sides here - but they loved their kids meals at Blue Bayou equally. Blue Bayou is just more expensive.
