CURLING COACHING FESTIVAL 🥌

Scottish Curling will be running a Coaching Festival at Inverness Ice Centre on Saturday 7th of September, 2024.

💫Courses will run 9:30am-5pm

💫There will be Level 1 Coaching Course & Coaching CPD Courses

💫Open to Scottish Curling Members & non members

Well done to the winners and everyone involved 🥌🥌

Congratulations to our winners of the 2023 Highland Gateway Bonspiel, Mark Hodges, Duncan Forbes (SKIP), Natalie Cowan and Senga Dingwall. Along with the trophy they also went away with a 16yr old Tomintoul.
With the current Vegetable shortage in the UK right now we unfortunately ran out of Neeps, but proudly showing off their Wooden Spoons were our, not so fortunate Owen, Anne Gibb, Gill Forbes and James Yule.

Thank you to all our Gateway Club members who came along tonight and made it a success. I hope you all had a lot of fun. Thank you to Ernie for organising tonight and securing the fantastic prizes and of course not forgetting the wonderful staff working in the kitchen and behind the bar ensuring we were well fed and watered.

Know anyone looking to take up a new sport? Perhaps you have a friend or family member who is just looking for a new social activity, a way to keep fit, meet new people and have fun.
Curling presents a fantastic opportunity to do just that and best of all, it's enjoyed by all ages.

Try Curling sessions are now underway at Inverness Ice Centre. They provide a great introduction to the sport where qualified and professional coaches will show you the basics and how the game is played.

The sessions are run in blocks of 4 and all equipment is provided. At the end of the block new curlers will then be invited to join the Highland Gateway Curling Club where they can enjoy half price membership to Scottish Curling and continue to develop their game whilst also having the opportunity to participate in local leagues and competitions.

ICE BOOKING SYSTEM -

Can I please draw your attention to an email that has been sent out this morning from David Russell regarding a completely new Booking System.
The system can be accessed the same way as before under the "curling" tab on the Ice Centre Website and by then selecting "new curling diary"

Here is a direct link - https://inverness-ice-centre.co.uk/2022-curling-booking-form/

The new system is far easier to use and will only show the available time slots for any selected day.
New additions to the system allow you to include more detail about what you will be using the ice for i.e. Practice.
You will also receive a confirmation email and will no longer be required to register in order to use the system.

Full instructions are shown at the top of the booking page.

If you haven't received this email please let me know, especially if you intend on using the system, as there are some very important points to note that David included in his email.

Unfortunately there are still issues with the ice at Inverness Ice Centre. As a result tonights rescheduled session for Highland Gateway has now been cancelled.
Our next schedules session is on Tuesday 20th at 6.45pm.

Please find attached the calender for this coming season on which you will find the dates for our club nights, Inverness Ice Rink League Division 3 and the Ellis Allan League. It does not include the dates of any Bonspiels etc that we may wish to enter throughout the year.

Please note that the first Ellis Allan League match, scheduled for Thursday 15th of September has been postponed. A new date will be decided for this in due course.

We look forward to seeing you all this coming Monday, 12th September.

Hi just a reminder, Our first night on the ice is tomorrow night Monday 12th Sept at 1845.
Can all members please be there early so we can get the teams sorted out and you will see a selection of sizes for the club tops and you can place your orders then. There will be men's and women's sizes.
Also those that still need to pay your membership fees please pay before you go on the ice.
