The only known example of prehistoric cave art in Serbia depicting horse and dagger above its neck, located in a cave in Gabrovnica village near Knjaževac in eastern Serbia.
It originates from the period of late Bronze age, some 3500 – 3200 years ago. This drawing is part of composition of drawings made with charcoal on the wall of the cave, consisting of 2 horses with riders, drawing of a horse and a dagger, one circle and one unclear drawing.
The drawings were discovered in 1997. by archaeologists from local museum and Faculty of Philosophy from Belgrade.
The depiction of a horse is simplified and schematized and based on a dagger drawn above the horse it is concluded that cave art from Gabrovnica originates from middle or late Bronze age, around 1500 – 1200 years BC.
Unfortunately, unknown vandals have damaged one of the horse figures with a sharp object in 2018

Jedini poznat primer praistorijske pećinske umetnosti sa područja Srbije, na kojem su prikazani konj i bodež iznad vrata konja, nalazi se u jednoj pećini u selu Gabrovnica kod Knjaževca u istočnoj Srbiji.
Potiče iz razdoblja kasnog bronzanog doba, od pre oko 3500 – 3200 godina. Na zidovima pećine otkriveno je ukupno pet slika koje čine dve predstave konja sa jahačima, konj sa bodežom, jedan nepravilan krug i jedna nejasna predstava.
Crteži su rađeni crnim ugljenom koji se stopio sa krečnjakom na podlozi i ne spira se.
Otkriveni 1997. godine od strane stručnjaka lokalnog muzeja i Filozofskog fakulteta u Beogradu.
Konji su prikazani pojednostavljneno i šematizovani, a na osnovu crteža bodeža iznad vrata konja zaključeno je da su crteži nastali tokom srednjeg ili kasnog bronzanog doba, oko 1500 – 1200 godina pre nove ere.
Nažalost, nepoznati počinioci su 2018. godine oštrim predmetom oštetili ctrtež konja

Reverse of a Celtic silver coin - tetradrachm, minted by Scordisci tribe, 3rd-2nd century BC, found in northern Serbia.
It is depicting beautiful figure of a horse made in a typical Celtic style, and inscription (possibly Greek) above it.
Unfortunately, this beautiful piece ended up in a private collection (as I heard outside of Serbia)

Revers srebrnog novčića - tetradrahme keltskog plemena Skordisci, 3-2. vek pre nove ere, pronađen u severnoj Srbiji
Na njemu je prikazana figura konja izvedena u maniru keltske umetnosti, a iznad je natpis, verovatno na grčkom.
Nažalost, ovaj predivan primerak drevnog novca završio je u privatnoj zbirci (koliko sam čuo izvan Srbije)
