At Antar Prerna, our mission is to engage with sustainability by creating environmentally friendly products that draw on the rich, living heritage of traditional Indian crafts and textiles. We source materials and directly engage with craftspeople and weavers. All our products seek to marry aesthetics with functionality. Our popular range of Yoga mats is inspired by the Tibetan concept of Drala -

the magic felt when we open our senses to fully engage and appreciate the world we live in. It is the experience of watching sunlight play on moving water; the smell of wet earth; the ever-shifting sand dunes of a desert, or the fleeting sight of the setting sun melting into the ocean. Through a playful approach that juxtaposes different textures, natural dyes, patterns and using fabrics such as jute, khadi, cotton and natural fibres, we hope to inspire our users with ‘drala’, to engage anew with the moment, with the world and with themselves. A local business started by two cooky women in their fifties trying to cut it as entrepreneurs in the start-up capital of India.
