Wondering how to adjust to living on a cruise ship?

⏰ Give yourself time - it's a huge move and you're not going to settle in overnight
🧠 Be open minded- every cruise ship is so different and so even if you feel fully prepared, certain aspects of ship life might take some adjusting to
🤗 Be kind - make an effort with people, you never know when you're going to need support or who you could connect with that is going to enrich your experience!

Do I have to swim to work on a cruise ship? 🏊‍♀️

This is something I get asked a LOT.

My answer- No, you don’t have to swim, if all goes to plan you won’t have to! However I do think it’s worth knowing how to because it will add to your experience of working on ships and travelling the world.

Exploring a new beach and going for a paddle in the sea is one of my favourite things to do!

Thinking you should wait to apply for a job on a cruise?
Here's why you shouldn't!!👇

I was 19 when I first started working on cruise ships and looking back I'm so glad I didn't wait until I was older or had more 'experience' in certain areas. Being young, energetic, keen to meet to people, work hard and adapt to new environments set me up perfectly to succeed and have the best time!

My time onboard has taught me a lot and totally shaped my work ethic. So my advice is to go for it! Have any questions about? Get in touch! Lucy x

Wondering what the best bank accounts are for working on cruise ships and travelling the world? 💸

Swipe for a few suggestions and why they might work well for you, of course there are many more and so it's important to do your own research!

The main factor I suggest looking into is whether you can make transactions and withdraw cash without being charged a fee each time. It also helps if they have a mobile app so that you can easily access your funds on the go.

Happy banking and safe travels!🌊

Cruising as crew

Hi, my name is lucy.

I have been working on cruise ships for three years now and honestly think it is the best job ever. I started my blog in 2018 as a way to share my crazy ship stories and amazing travel experiences with you.

When working on ships was still just a thought, I had so many questions like where would I go, would I get seasick, and I struggled to find a place that could help me answer these queries of mine so, I thought I would take it upon myself to create a little space on the internet that would hopefully answer your cruising questions. If you are so kind as to read my blog and have anything you want me to write about or you have a question you would like me to answer, please feel free to message me either on here, or you may email me. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy!
