Mexicans have a different notion of time, it's not linear and truth be told, it's not important (unless your mother is telling you to come 'right now').
Ratito, the diminutive of 'rato' which literally translates to 'while' might be misunderstood by anyone not born and bred in Mexico. The Mexican definition noted here is 'an infinite amount of time'.
My favorite would be the ever-confusing 'ahorita'. The diminutive version of 'ahora' literally meaning 'now', in Mexico accurately translates to 'right now', 'later', 'never' or 'who knows when'. Intonation helps determine what meaning the word carries but body language and knowing a little bit about the speaker will give you a clearer understanding of which meaning it carries.
The most important thing to remember is time is not important and flows in its own special way. If you cannot handle that, stay clear of Mexico.

There's a little street in Cuernavaca that is closed down every weekend and is filled with books just like this. The medications are locked away in the pharmacies, the electronics at the store and the people in their houses but nobody needs to worry about the books because 'people that steal don't read books and those that read don't steal'.
