*River Cruise on Kinabatangan River in Borneo*
Whilst planning our honeymoon in Borneo I came across a small company offering a 3 day, 2 night stay on the river, including all food and tours. There were only 10 rooms, so this small set up really appealed to us. From further research, it was clear that the staff at the company were attentive and knowledgeable, and that little touches such as being met with hot/cold towels after returning from boat tours were welcome treats whilst staying in the middle of the rainforest. .
Whilst travelling, I like a mix of adventure and luxury, and this trip certainly ticked the adventure box, with lots of little luxuries too, such as this cup of tea that we were treated too whilst sat on the boat watching hornbills fly over. It’s one of those moments that I’ll always remember. .
Often when booking tours, there are several companies offering very similar packages. I always try to support local companies, where possible. I also prefer booking my own tours, rather than just using the one recommended by large travel agents, as it gives me the freedom to choose the best company to suit my needs. .
