We want to share the secret that is San Blas with you, and get you closer to the Kuna indigenous culture. The San Blas islands belong to the Comarca de Kuna Yala, an indigenous reservation that has jurisdiction over the 360 islands in the archipelago. The Kunas are among the few people who’ve managed to preserve their culture and traditions closed to outsiders through the passage of time. Though this is rapidly changing, life on the islands is still reserved to the few Kuna families that live on them tending to coconut plantations. The men spend their days fishing and the women sow really beautiful cloths. The Kunas lead a simply beautiful way of life.
