WBAC - Central Maryland Unit The Central Maryland Unit (CMU) is Unit 166 of Wally Byam Airstream Club, Inc. Region 2. The Central Maryland Unit (CMU) is part of WBCCI region 2.

The unit was chartered June 20, 1977 after breaking away from the Mid-Atlantic Unit. Although its name implies the Unit covers only the central part of Maryland, in reality it covers the entire state. Since its beginning, CMU has been an active unit hosting functions almost every month. During the winter months, there will be luncheons or dinners to keep us active until the rally season (which r

uns from April until November) begins again. In most years, unit members join together for a caravan to the International Rally. Unit members come from all walks of life and all stages of life. We recently have seen an influx of new and active members all of whom offer new and innovative ideas. CMU members have been active on all levels of WBCCI. We are proud to have seen one of our members become International President, two have become Region Presidents. We also have seen members rise to International Recording Secretary and International Membership Standing Comittee Chairman. One of our couples hosted and chaired the 2011 Region 2 Rally. CMU members are not only Airstreaming friends, they consider CMU as their second family. The entire Unit looks forward to welcoming new members both young and old, experienced and inexperienced Airstreamers.

Happy New Year! Frohes Neues Jahr! Feliz Ano Nuevo! Godt Nytt år! あけましておめでとうございます! 新年快乐(sheenien kuailah)! Say good bye to 2016 and welcome in 2017! We had a great luncheon at Brio's Tuscan Grill in the Annapolis Towne Center. The Chinn's, Hartig's, Baltzell's, Potter's, Moeller's, and Durand's attended the holiday luncheon. Pictures are posted here on our Central Maryland Unit page. Feel free to post your pictures here as well. The Kaiser's were sorely missed and hope you both are feeling better. After the winter break we hope to see everyone again at the February luncheon at the Sunset Restaurant and Lounge.

We have an exciting year ahead of us but need some volunteers to lead some of the activities. Please get with Rune to select a monthly activity. Also, look ahead in your calendars and start preping your Airstreams for the beginning of rally season in May. Now is the time to get your Airstreams in the shop for any TLC that got missed last year. Do not forget to season your cast iron dutch ovens to do some serious cooking. We plan to kick it off in a new location at Jersey Shore Haven Airstream Park from 19-21 May, but will go back to our home base in the Piney Mountains for the next rally for those of you who prefer to stay close.
