We are taking a rather spontaneous trip with some friends tomorrow. And it’s gotten me reminiscing of our time in this magical place. ❤️
I’ll be honest though, this somewhat peaceful moment exploring Ankor Wat only lasted a mere 45 seconds. If you are planning a trip...be prepared for insane crowds, even at sunrise. ☀️

I’m not usually the one behind the camera but once in awhile I give it a go ☺️.
As some of you know, in 2016, Brian and I took our “Mid”life Leap and traveled around Africa, India, and SE Asia for almost a year before settling down here in Paris. ✈️🌍💛
You may also know that I’m almost TWO YEARS behind in publishing our blog posts. 🙈
My new personal goal is to finish our “Stories from the Road” section of our blog before our trip back to the US 🇺🇸 in November.

This is Alleppey. A beautiful city in India’s southern state of Kerala. Today, Alleppey and other parts of Kerala are suffering from some of the worst floods in over a century.
We met some incredible people during the month we spent traveling across this part of the world. And when I reached out to make sure they were okay, this is what our friend, told us ❤️:
“Right now, the people in Kerala are trying to overcome the situation. They are very helpful to each other. There is no religion, no cast, no rich, no poor. Everyone is the same. This makes the whole state proud.”
Everyone is the same 🙏🏼. I seriously want to shout this from every rooftop somedays (and we all know my voice carries). The words are so simple aren’t they?
So how can we help? We can put social media to good use. As with all the recent natural disasters, consider spreading awareness and giving back to our friends and neighbors who are in need of our support.

I think I’ve used up all my words to describe Bali ✨. And to think, Brian and I almost skipped it!
We spent a month in a beautiful villa exploring the island by 🛵. It came 9 months into our trip. We didn’t realize how much we needed to slow down.
Can we go back? 🙏🏼

I don’t know if you know this about me, but while I love going to the beach 🏝 , I don’t love getting into the water 🏊🏼‍♀️. I have a huge fear of big bodies of water (not just the ocean).

But remember how I said Bali is a magical place ✨? The only way Brian was able to get me out of the 🌊 was by luring me out with promises of food 🍟. I could have stayed there forever 🐠!

What about you guys? Does anyone share this similar fear?

When you are driving around on a 🛵 in Bali, don’t be surprised when jaw dropping scenery like this appears around every corner!

If we hadn’t just gotten stuck in a monsoon 💦, maybe one of us would have actually gotten in the picture!

Oh well. Guess we will just have to go back! 😜

This week we are taking it back to the magic of Bali ✨. What I would give to be back in this exact moment: sipping on a coconut 🥥 trying to act normal in-front of the camera (in a 👙).

This self imposed instagram challenge has forced me to go back through our 873619384 pictures (🤯) and relive every second of our . And I’m loving it. 💕

Brian and I ate our way through San Sebastián last month 😋.

One day Brian decided we should take 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♂️ outside of town to the cider houses 🍻. It would be relaxing he said...

(Pst. Far left corner beyond the hills, well that’s San Sebastián, where we started this “relaxing” bike ride.) But of course that wasn’t enough and we ended up, unbeknownst to me (and possibly Brian), on an uphill trek to an old church somewhere along the El Camino de Santiago trail.

Things were not looking good for our friend Brian. And then it started raining 🌧. The situation spiraled downhill faster than you can say pintxos.

But this story has a happy ending. When we finally made it to the top, we were gifted this incredible sunset.

And all was forgiven 🙏🏼 (after we had a few glasses of cider of course).

Oh Copenhagen! After spending a long weekend in CPH, we left with significantly lighter wallets 💸 and heavier bellies 🙈. We also need to ring out our livers for the next few days!!🤦🏻‍♀️

If you look closely you can see how hard Brian is struggling to keep me up. 🙄
A joke may or may not have been made about the 🍔 (and 🍦) I had for lunch that day quickly followed by an, “I’m joking! It’s just too hot!” comment.
I’m sure what he meant to say was, “I’m too weak. You are perfect.”
We didn’t talk for an hour after this photo was taken. ☠️🔪

You guys! Today is a very special day. Does anyone know why? It’s our one year France-iversary! 🇫🇷💙 !

I really can’t believe it! It feels like just yesterday Brian and I couldn’t figure out how to buy hand soap at the grocery store (true story 🤦🏻‍♀️).

We just want to say thank you to everyone who has been following along on this crazy adventure! Here’s hoping our French will improve by the time we post our two year France-iversary post!! 😘🙏🏼. À tous!

Last year, Brian and I were on our way to visit this captivating country when I ran into passport issues and decided Brian shouldn’t miss this opportunity. He came back with countless stories over his two week solo trip, but the constant theme throughout everything he shared was the people ✨(and also the food bc Burmese food is the 💣).

Their kindness goes beyond words and their faces here show it all. 💕

What happens when you’ve been on the road for 6 months and your hair needs a touch up (seriously with those grays you guys 👵🏼)? Well ask your husband of course! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyone who knows me understands how important my hair is (sad but true) so it’s understandable that when I asked Brian, for the sake of the budget, if he would color my hair for me, his initial reaction was a hard pass 🙅🏻‍♂️. After a few days of begging he finally broke down and agreed to help a girl out. In the end, I think it’s safe to say that he enjoyed the process way more than I did👨🏼‍🎨. I was terrified. Something about this ☀ has us riding the productivity train (and apparently the corny one too 😜). I’ve worked out twice this week, logged over 30 miles (just walking guys, it’s still me here 👋) AND we just posted not one, not two, but THREE new guides up on MLL!

I can’t believe it. 15 months later, we have finally finished our last post on India 🇮🇳 . I’m sure our friends have completely given up on “catching up on our blog” since we have been back for almost a year now. Whoopsies! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mumbai was an incredible end to our two months traveling through this extraordinary country. I miss (almost) everything about it. If India isn’t already on your radar, make sure you get it there. Submit to your fears and give yourself this gift. It’s community and beauty; it’s hardships and failures; it’s overflowing desire to nourish not just your appetite but your heart and soul. Entangle yourself in it’s mystery and let yourself bask in it’s wonders. Thank you, India ❤️ we will never forget you.

Eide Hame Mobarak! Happy Nowruz everyone! Today is the Persian New Year! Nowruz literally translates to “new day.” It marks the end of the old year and the beginning of the new and while the Persian new year is more than just a single day, it is marked by the first day of Spring (exactly at 12:15pm EST today). 💐

I have so many incredible memories of our Nowruz celebrations during my childhood but the one constant I remember is that we were always surrounded by our family and friends. We celebrate this beautiful, ancient tradition together, both leading up to the New Year and in the days following as well. Nowruz is so much more than wearing your new clothes and waiting for your “eidi” (your gift, which is usually crisp, new money). It is about tradition and community. It is about hope for the future, and reflecting on your past. Above all, it is about celebrating POSSIBILITY for the future, a new beginning, a new life.

On this New Year, I want to wish you all a beautiful and healthy Nowruz. May you step into this new year with endless possibilities, an open mind, and a kind heart. Eideh Shoma Mobarak. 😘✨☀️🌷

We may have preferred the tranquil beaches of South Goa to North Goa, but one thing’s for sure, the 🌅 on Vagator Beach did not disappoint.

Our days spent on this party beach were way more tranquil 💆🏻than trance 💃🏻.

And they looked something like this: Morning walk. Drink lassi. Afternoon walk. Eat curry. Evening walk. Eat more curry and naan. Drink 🍻 . Enjoy beautiful sunset. Sleep happy. ✌🏽

Can I tell you something? A moment of truth behind the Social Media filter? Living in Paris has been a dream ✨, don’t get me wrong, but in-between the cute cafes and buttery 🥐 (seroiusly how do they get so much butter in that little thing? Actually, I don’t want to know🙈), living abroad can be pretty lonely.

Brian and I have been struggling to find our groove, our routine, our rhythm. When we were on the road we definitely had these feelings but for the most part they would disappear since the second it started feeling like something real, we were off on our next adventure (with the exception of that minor breakdown. Just that little baby one 😶).

Now that we have decided to put down some roots (and forgive my analogy here, I’m just going with it), it feels like we are missing the soil for them to…well…root to I guess. The nutrients they need. Something for them to grab on to. Our friends. Our family. Our rhythm.

Maybe it’s the seasonal depression (it’s been a real rainy winter), or maybe not. Either way, Brian and I decided to take a more active approach to our life abroad. We are supposed to be Leaping after all!

SO with that, Brian joined a run club 🏃🏻and finally, after 6 months of delaying, I signed up for my first yoga class! And it's tonight! ⭐️Yoga is the only thing I ever go back to. The one thing that, for now, will (hopefully) feel like home 💙. Yoga is a never-ending practice, and thats why I love it so damn much.

So here we go! I’m so excited (and really, really nervous. IT’S IN FRENCH YOU GUYS). Wish me luck! And thanks for listening! XO 😘
