Metaline Falls Movies Guided Tours MFMGT

One of the region’s independent movie theater’s could really use your help! NuVu-Theater is in Metaline Falls, Washington. They show modern movies and movies already out on DVD. They also show independent movies and take requests from the public! One of the best features is the 100+ year old popcorn machine and the secret recipe handed down from owner to owner through the years. Just last week, the State allowed movie theaters to have 50% capacity, but that still means they have 100% of the overhead expenses plus the extra work of complying with cleaning measures. Now, this movie theater has always gone above and beyond the cleaning requirements - even before the pandemic - so there are no concerns there.

Unfortunately, this program will not happen this year. Just too many logistical problems to overcome.

We will use the time wisely, though, and plan a glorious comeback next year!

Consider donating to Pend Oreille River Tourism Alliance - PORTA on !

We humbly raise our hand to take part in this global event. PORTA is an all-volunteer non-profit dedicated to promoting tourism in ways sensitive to local culture, environment, and way of life. We don't even have an office, thus reducing our overhead costs down to stamps, printer ink, and paper.

That means that almost every penny PORTA receives goes toward bringing the to the world to encourage the world to spend their tourism dollars here.

You've seen it written many times before: when you spend locally, you're helping a shop owner pay for his or her child's dentist appointment, helping put food on the family table, buying the gas to get to a doctor's appointment. PORTA works to keep that income stream ongoing, especially in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall, and now also in the winter.

🎥 METALINE FALLS MOVIES GUIDED TOURS 🚌

Yes! It's happening! Thanks to Kalispel Tribe of Indians and Seattle City Light's Boundary Dam, the Metaline Falls Movies Guided Tours will be every Saturday and Sunday from August 12th through September 3rd.

There is a $20 walking tour of Metaline Falls with photo ops to put yourself in the scenes of a popular post apocalyptic movie, plus a $20 bus ride and tour to Boundary Dam. A $5 discount is being extended to children, Seniors, Military, Law Enforcement, First Responders and to groups of ten.

Due to cost, the bus ride can only happen if we have a minimum of ten guests per trip.

Bonus: The Cutter Theatre and Affair On Main Street will have locally owned props from the movie on display during Labor Day Weekend!

This is part of a Pend Oreille Region Tourism Alliance (PORTA) pilot program to encourage self-employed tour guides. Volunteer your time for just one tour and get free training. If you enjoy the experience, PORTA will then guide you through getting your tour guide certification. You can even become a contractor with PORTA for future tours in the works.
