Finally!!!!!

I'm working on sharing my incredible hikes with you, and now have 2 of the 4 day hike in Georgia out.

I know there's an issue with the sound in the middle. It's a glitch that sometimes happens in rendering after editing, that I found only after uploading to Youtube. Can we get by it so I can move on or will my ND brain hyperfixate and spend more time trying to fix it for a re-upload? Stay tuned.

Westjet sales finally got lit and I bought into my own stocks.
Stock and trades.
Stock into my experiences.
Trading in all financial comforts and extras and understanding deeply what little is need vs extra... like much of my grocery budget, cutting out trips n gas costs, walking more, cutting day to day outtings completely...all for the wealth investment of extended travels!

For me, worth it.

Plan is 5 weeks in europe centered around hiking the TMB again and then Iceland to hike the Laugavegur trail with the extention.

We are all so different in how we invest in our own lives.

This beautiful couple were taking pre marriage photos in the yard before giving their vows on the gorgeous ridge, so I invited them and their photographer up for a few photos with the view.

I *REALLY* know how to travel in style as a dirtbagger. Havent had ice in my cooler for days but having a cold gin drink thanks to the beach pub.

Ps and on that note, I'm not entirely sure how this much dirt got this ground into my legs and I do wonder if a shower and scrub brush will clean me up if laying in the lake can't even 😆

And for others doing this, remember that to have this WE must maintain it. Food scraps are garbage, not to be left. Gross, they don't break down like you think, look like garbage, stink, AND bring animals. And ruin animals lives.

Pack out what you bring in. And don't wash or p*e near water. 💞

When you are open to others the world becomes a miracle.
Got sat at the bar by two fabulous women. 3.5 hours of intense awesome conversation ensues..... politics, economics, education, intersections of all of the above and women's roles in society..... incredible.
Take away- we need a podcast.

And I really loved this hat sold to me near here, at the Valley of the Kings.

Sometimes the pushy sales ppl at markets are right. :) i really DID need this hat. I mean, I had a hat of course. But this one was waaay better and stuck with me through my whole 6 months and 12 countries.

Spring hiking is my fav! Such a quiet day in Bragg Creek even on Sunday, something I can't get in summer. Definitely glad to have my microspikes and poles, and if you follow my posts, this time WITH snow baskets!! Haha!! Very good thing, too!


What are your favorite spring hikes?
44 years old, keeping strong so I can keep mobile and able, especially with an aging body and old injuries.

This was me on the classic Sulpher Springs to Riverview loop. 12km 416m elevation though my phone clocked me at only 383m. Slushy snow, icy slicks, muddy... wonderful.
But my shoes are leaking so my toes were very chilly. Time for a seam sealer check or possibly new hiking shoes.

I'll start... I'm still hoping to get a sweet place and create a new home. Not so much to settle in as to create options with. ... and in the mean time, I swear I can hear Croatia whispering soft invite songs across the spring breezes. Hahaha!!!
Here I am feeling rather epic for pushing through fears of breaking ice and carrying on to these amazing falls up in Jasper. If you're going to go on the Maligne Canyon icewalk you can get a guide with any of many companies or else be aware and cautious as the spring melt is softening the ice .

Castles on the hill? Quaint buildings and shops abound.

Some small towns retain all their charm.
Bellingham, WA in the USA has ever been a favourite and was even a favourite of my mom's in the 60s!
I hope they continue to protect what makes it such a lovely destination.

Give me life with the cherry on top! The Calgary hot chocolate fest is tasty!
Seen here, Re:Grub deerfoot meadows and their very pink strawberry hot chocolate with a seriously good macaroon heart. This reminded me of my early 20s drinking strawberry milk.
The sauce was excellent but maybe not the best for a couple friends with ADHD. Talk about being hyper after!

Lovely and easy walk right near Banff, the Hoodoo trail sure doesn't disappoint on views. But as always in winter packed trails I highly suggest bringing microspikes.

That time I was in Borneo...
The great thing about having no room on the group tour boat to the Orangutan conservatory was going and staying in a stilt wooden village on my own, then going up river privately in a small canoe with an outboard motor. It meant we could hear better and stop often.
Probisus monkeys in the trees above.
And they are all so endangered due to the wholesale clearing of rare forest for palm oil. Yet tourism can help when we're careful about it. It can help encourage the government to stop allowing forest destruction and
Also become a strong enough income to be more or sustainably as important than palm oil.

Some of my favourite memories, though I also got incredibly sick from the food.
Inspired by national geographic as a child, perhaps a little insatiably.

Last hours in Georgia and the wanders of wanderbeaning, where I've been at bus stations still deciding where to go. But that's done for this trip ... For now... (*if i can get a place to live)....

Today hopefully flights go well (tight connection) and I'll be sleeping in London with two weeks of highly scheduled funtimes coming, including FINALLY seeing Hamilton!!! And Finally going to Cambridge. And Finally seeing Buckingham Palace, Stirling Castle, and Belfast. With a few Returns from decades ago. Go back for a new view of Versailles. More Scotch in Edinburgh. Many more pastries in Paris. Maybe get to see/participate in some soapbox discussions in Hyde Park again.

I'm nervous about such structured travels and at leaving this area but last night I felt the readiness, too.

So, this or better for the best of all... Spirit Willing....

If you study the effects of war on people, or how humans can live together peacefully, even when there is great stress and their countries are at war, Georgia is a place to be.

Its absolutely brim full of Russians, and there is some heat and stress but mostly they are welcomed/tolerated even tho there are tons of pro Ukraine signs everywhere, and Russia invaded here only a few years ago. They still hold territory that has displaced many, tho also many are glad for their protection.
Its a unique place full of differing beliefs and ideas.

I just met a man who is here because Russia invaded his home of Belarus and just took it. No one talks of this, only Ukraine. Tho he says Belrus is fully moving towards Europe.
Yesterday I met a Russian woman who says she is against the war but sounds like she will return to Russia and join the forces as a medic of some sort. Itd be voluntary and she so far has no background in medical. Just to go help.
Constantly I meet russians running from conscription or just being opposed but not feeling able to fight from home.
Staying at hotels run by Abkhaz people.

I heard there's been at least one contentious party here that made you sign a paper to get in, saying you were with Ukraine and against the war.

Its an incredible place to be. I wish I were a journalist to know how to write all this into a story, but I'm not. So I leave you with bits and pieces of the different stories.
Maybe I should write all this up with some of the history and such I've gathered....

Beautiful Tatev Monastery in Armenia....and a Hitch hikers dream, I tell ya. Armenia is an incredibly friendly wonderful place. And soooo beautiful!!

I was on my way to Tatev when I ran into a traveller from my hotel and had to stop and have a beer... After the earlier wine had with my ride to Tatev I was feeling a little light. 😁😂 Must be the 1600m elevation, right?!?! Hehehe

holy slow poke, I only FINALLY today went to my first Turkish hammam.

As they are these days it was overpriced for a very meh rushed service but it was still fun to do. Been to some SERIOUSLY serious palaces and met this suuuuuper awesome woman and shared a deep but laughter fulfilling conversation, food and heart lifted connection.

Really good.

Also mirrors and supports my knowing that I deeply need change in my home life.

My thoughts have turned these last few weeks, knowing I'm nearing the end of my trip. 5more weeks and I meet my friend in London or Edinburgh to freeze to halfdeath before the wasteland hell cold if calgary at Halloween.
I'm currently at the freezing when it hits 24 above level of heatbaggery dirtbagging. So... Wtf... 😂

I'm really liking this Dating Myself thing!!!

When I catch myself daydreaming about partnership and them doing something sweet for me... I DO SOMETHING SWEET FOR ME.

Ok, no. Giving myself a backrub isnt quite the same thing but then when was the last time your partner did that anyways.
Speaking of which.... Shiatsu massage is offered somewhere in heading and in pretty sure my inner self is going to treat my outter self.
Super sore lately.
