Explore Tennessee River Valley Use the TRV Geotourism MapGuide to explore the most ecologically diverse river system in US & the region's rich cultural, heritage, & recreational assets.

The Tennessee River Valley Geotourism MapGuide is an online travel planning tool for the watershed of the Tennessee River, one of the major tributaries of the Ohio River. Flowing 674 miles through 7 states- Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky, the river is one of the most ecologically important river systems in the country. The region is often referred

to as the “Great Lakes of the South.”

In partnership with National Geographic, the TRV MapGuide is an interactive online guide for destination information about authentic cultural, heritage, and recreational tourism. The MapGuide features Points of Interest nominated by locals, including: historic, cultural, and natural landmarks; music and arts festivals; outdoor adventures; and more. There are many ways to navigate the MapGuide to find places and events of interest, and visitors can save and organize favorites and create personalized trip plans. We encourage you to share your experiences and stories.

The 2025 Eagle Awareness Weekends at Lake Guntersville State Park-Alabama are:
January 24-26
January 31-February 2

Event highlights include live bird demonstrations, programs provided by notable speakers, guided safaris for viewing eagles in their natural habitat, plenty of photo opportunities for those with camera in hand, lodging for two nights, social and wine tasting on Friday evenings, breakfast buffet Saturday and Sunday and dinner Saturday evening.

Registration is now open, and space is limited. Sessions typically fill up quickly and participants are encouraged to reserve a weekend https://www.alapark.com/EagleAwarenessWeekends.
