Seven Islands State Birding Park is one of Tennessee's newest State Parks. But who lived here before it was a park and how has the land changed over time? Join Ranger Clare for a walk down Kelly Lane and along the Friench Broad River on November 17 from 1pm-4pm CT. We will stop at some of the historical structures and learn about the families that built them. We will also learn how the natural features, native plants, and wildlife have always been important to the occupants of this land.

Please dress for the weather and be prepared to walk approximately 3-4 miles on moderate terrain. Bring water, good walking shoes, and a snack.

How about another waterfall for this Wednesday evening? The trailhead is 3.5 miles from the Sugarlands Visitor Center, on Little River Road.

The roundtrip hike to the falls is 2.6 miles, and the trail is considered easy to moderate. The falls are 80 feet tall and have two sections, separated by a walkway, and they are named after the mountain laurel shrubs that bloom along the trail. 🌸
