Our Story
Porch Swing Boutique Home Rentals is a small local St. Petersburg business that rents vintage 1920 bungalows in St. Petersburg, Florida. The owner, Ann, is a former art director for a national media research company. She has a passion and an eye for collecting unique, whimsical and quirky pieces. It started with local antique shows, auctions and salvage yards . . . and then Europe! Over the years her collections have outgrown her own home. “You might say, I ran out of room!” she says. “My pieces fit perfectly into my 100-year old rental properties. It is also rewarding to share these treasures with others. Each piece has a story."
The homes are in the area’s most sought after community, Old Northeast. Five of them are short term vacation rentals. You can book them on HomeAway, VRBO and Airbnb. The remaining three are 12-month annual rentals.
THE VACATION RENTALS Catherine’s Cottage and the Winnie Belle are both charming authentic bungalows in the heart of Old Northeast. Both have traditional large front porches with a signature porch swing and white picket fences. Each is surrounded by delightful gardens of tropical flowers and palms. Both have courtyards in the back and both have garages. All properties are styled in a coastal, shabby chic, eclectic decor which is now part of the branding. As one guest observed, “You can always tell a Porch Swing Home, by the friendly and fun color schemes. The cottages are clean, welcoming and homey."
Two of the vacation rentals are practically in town, Gene’s Carriage House Lofts. These two one bedroom apartments are designated East and West. They are located in an historic old carriage house. Now a hundred years old, the first floor either housed horses or was a garage for old cars back in the day. Now it is a garage for guests' cars, a storage spot for bikes, great place to keep your golf clubs or an area for sandy beach gear. The actual lofts are above the garage on the second floor. Each has its own private screened porch complete with flower boxes. You can park your car inside the garage (a little tight for big SUVs) or along side it. The great news is you can walk to everything; restaurants, museums, shops and downtown parks.
