Under the Lemontree is a new homestay being built in Hao Tao, Sapa, North of Vietnam, by a group of Spanish girls and a Hmong family to bring together adventurous travellers and pragmatic dreamers. A social entrepreneurship project that sparks from the spontaneous friendship between BU, a hmong girl, and CARCHIN, a Spanish girl.
“Someday we will build a Homestay that will be full of travellers. Th
ey will teach us about their cultures and we will teach them about ours. This will allow my people, the Hmongs, to survive and prosper without losing our identity” Said Bu. And Carchin was determined to make this idea a reality. A year later, with all the permits and financing achieved, the two girls have assembled a group of friends, each with a different talent, to be able to carry out the project in a co-creative experience. In Under The Lemontree we are reimagining what’s possible from life.We are building a homestay rooted in ancestral values but with a foot on the future that will capture the best of both worlds, offering the Hmongs the needed tools to survive in a global world, and the adventurous travellers the benefits of traditions in a magical environment surrounded by mountains covered with terraced rice fields.
