Share this idea with someone you know who loves beaches! 🌞⛱

A fellow traveler collected sand from all the beaches that she has visited on her trips and turned them into a beautiful sand vase. 😮 So cool!

What other unique and economical souvenirs have you seen? 🐚🐚🐚

We're staying in the city of Lucerne, but we have a car so we can venture out and explore some nearby mountain towns too.

I'm in New Orleans this weekend touring the vault and archives of The National WWII Museum. Before sharing photos of the vault, I wanted to share a bucket list item I crossed off today:

This morning I took a ride on the only operating combat-tested PT boat left in the world. It's called PT-305, and a large team of volunteers spent over 10 years and 100,000 hours restoring it back to the way it looked in 1944.

On the boat with me is a 94-year-old veteran of WWII who served on a PT boat in the Solomon Islands and Philippines. This is his first ride on a PT boat in over 70 years! PT boats operated within close range to the enemy ships they were attacking and the courage it took to serve on one of these boats is immeasurable. He is a true living hero!

We made it to Patagonia!

Our last six days have been spent off the grid, trekking around Torres Del Paine in Chile with Ecocamp Patagonia. We are now back to the connected world and over the next couple of weeks we will begin posting photos and stories from our time down here in Patagonia.

Most of my dream destinations are inspired by seeing just one photograph and saying "I need to go there one day." Patagonia is one of of those places for me and I am thrilled to announce that This World Rocks will be heading to Ecocamp Patagonia in October for hiking, biking, and even some glacier trekking!

Today is the 72nd anniversary of D-Day. Check out the 'Then and Now' slideshow I put together from when I visited there on the 70th anniversary:
http://www.thisworldrocks.com/d-day-now-normandy-70-years/

That trip in 2014 was part of a three-year research project that I did on my grandfather's unit and what they accomplished during WWII. In July of this year, I will be heading back to Normandy to guide 12 of my family members on a "footsteps" tour. We will be retracing my grandfather's steps from the beaches of Normandy all the way to Germany and I will be sharing his story with them along the way.

In May, I spent four days in Normandy exploring all the D-Day memorials, cemeteries, and ruins from 70 years ago. In honor of the 70th anniversary of the invasion, I put together my best Then and Now shots from those times. Enjoy! -Dan 1. Omaha Beach Landings on Morning of June 6th 2. Landing Und...

Wondering what I've been up to lately?

Well, I have been working with some fellow travel bloggers to create a company called Shift Space that specializes in "CoWorkcations". We create workspaces & accommodation in some of the world's most beautiful destinations and send in a group of location-independent workers to live and travel together for a couple of months.

Interested in joining 15 other entrepreneurs, freelancers, and remote workers in paradise for 2 months?

Our next trip is heading to the beautiful island country of Sri Lanka in February 2016! Check out our website to learn more about it or to apply to come along: http://shiftspaces.com/sri-lanka/

Come see the world… and bring your job with you!

We've arrived in Granada and we really lucked out with our choice of accommodation. We've rented an apartment in El Albayzín (the Arab Quarter) that has a breath-taking view of Alhambra.

Along with the awesome view, our rooftop also features grape vines, pomegranate trees, and a pool!

I am looking forward to a great week here, and we're going to start it off with an early morning tour of Alhambra tomorrow.

My favorite thing to do in Amsterdam is rent a boat and take a lunch cruise around the canals.

Today we rented it earlier than usual (10am) and had a good two hours with very few other boats around.

If you're ever in Amsterdam, this is my number one recommendation of what to do!

I am looking for your travel tips for Spain!

In three days, I will be making my way back to Europe and will be visiting Spain for the first time. I will be spending the majority of my time in Granada with additional stops in Malaga and Madrid to see some football!

What should I do/see/eat when I'm in España?

The Bucket List. It’s your ever-growing ‘do before I die’ list that is full of vacation destinations, adventures, and good times. I don’t have a bucket list myself, but that doesn’t mean I hate the idea of bucket lists. I don’t. I just hate buckets lists that suck. This article isn’t meant to…
