On Friday evening after several trauma activations related to violent community events, an individual being treated for Mental Health, damaged and activated the fire sprinkler system in the Emergency Room. This resulted in a major flooding of the entire Emergency Department, Emergency Department registration and waiting area, OP entrance and Medical Imaging.

Staff responded quickly and the ED was temporarily relocated to same day surgery area. The ED Registration and triage have been relocated to the Main Entrance.

At this time, the ED has been temporarily relocated to 2 North until further notice. The ED walk-in entrance is through the main lobby as well as triage.

Our leadership team and employees have been on site all day. Clean-up and dehumidification is in process now. At this time the cafeteria will be closed to the public until further notice. All EMS emergencies will be diverted to other hospitals.

Please be patient with our staff as we are working through this to best serve our community.

Woodham is wanted for Aggravated Assault in relation to the shooting at GA Veterans State Park. On March 25, 2023, female suffering a gunshot wound arrived at Crisp Regional Hospital. It was reported that the shooting occurred at GA Veterans State Park around 2:40 P.M. following a domestic incident and that the suspect fled the scene. Crisp County Sheriff's Office and other State and Local agencies are working together to investigate the shooting.

Multi-Vehicle Accident
At approximately 7:10 A.M. Crisp County First Responders responded to a multi-vehicle accident involving two Crisp County School System buses and one other vehicle near Old Albany and 24th Ave intersection. One individual reported injuries, and they were released to their parents on scene by Crisp County EMS. No other injuries were reported. Georgia State Patrol Post 30 is working the accident. # # #

Complaints about fireworks overload 9-1-1 Emergency phone lines can keep people from experiencing a life-threatening emergency from quickly connecting with a Communications Officer. We want to remind citizens to be courteous fireworks are not fun for everyone. Fireworks can be frightening and even dangerous for animals. Noisy fireworks and other celebrations can startle animals and cause them to run away. Please take precautions to keep your pets safe during and after New Year's festivities. Respect the law and do not use fireworks outside the legally permitted times.

The Resort At Lake Blackshear Will Be Closed Immediately For Reasons Of A Structural Nature. Structural Engineers Have Deemed The Hotel And Villas Are Unsafe For People To Stay In. The Convention Center And Restaurant Will Remain Open For Now.
Statement From DNR: "The Department Of Natural Resources Has Determined That Based On Structural Evaluations, The Lodge Rooms And Villas At Lake Blackshear Resort Will Be Temporarily Closed To The Public Effective Immediately. These facilities will remain closed for additional evaluation and possible repairs. Lakeside Cabins, Campsites And RV Areas Are Still Open And Welcome Guests. Cordelia’s Restaurant And 88s Lounge Will Remain Open To Serve Customers Through New Year’s Day. The property continues to be a great vacation destination with Boating at Lake Blackshear Marina, Golf at The Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course, as well as The SAM Shortline Excursion Train and The Georgia Veterans State Park Museum. Other activities open to guests include the Archery and Air Rifle Range, as well as a 3-D Archery Trail. We Will Provide Updates As Additional Information Is Made Available.
