I can’t believe I’ve gotten so efficient at capturing all of my travel content on my iPhone 13. You can too! Here are my 5 tips as an avid solo traveler, with her tripod bestfriend [SAVE THIS] ✨ 📸 🎥
1. Get a stabilizer for your phone to avoid shaky footage. If your hand is shaking, the footage is going to reflect that. So you absolutely need to start here. I’ve linked mine on my Amazon storefront for easy access — link in my bio.
2. Shoot on ‘Live’ mode. Always. Then what you want to do is stand still and shoot 30 frames if necessary. Then edit the frame from ‘Live’ mode to ‘Long Exposure’ for a moving background. You can also change to whichever frame you prefer when you shoot on live mode.
3. Reduce the brightness of your phone immediately before you start shooting. (Tap the screen a few times and the light icon will pop up. Scroll down on the line icon to decrease it). That is going to define your object (you are the object in this case) more without letting in extra light all over. You’re basically controlling the aperture. It’s easier to add in more light on an editing app than removing it.
4. Change your video to ‘4K. 60fps.’ This drastically improves the quality of the video output because it’s one of the higher quality settings. You can’t afford to shoot on anything else, as these content apps will naturally reduces the quality of your content. Give yourself a winning chance.
5. Get a tripod and a remote clicker. This is my go to as a traveler who simply enjoys crispy content. Solo traveling or not, I sometimes do shooting sessions on my own because I have the vision for my content. Also, it doesn’t strain your relationship when you can shoot your content without burdening whoever you’re traveling with. I’ve linked mine in my Amazon storefront for easy access.
