A family operated craft business which originated from Guyana.

My name is Laurence Modeste, born in the country of Guyana of a St.Lucian father and Guyanise mother, I was fortunate to visit St.Lucia with my father, where I learnt much of my ancestry and the culture of St.Lucia. Coming from Guyana,which is a country of acres of forest,rivers, and lust vegetation, my imagination sprang into action. The calabashes,coconuts and varieties of seeds which were commo

n to both homelands was the foundation which manifested the idea of craft. Guyana provided the materials and the blooming tourism sector which created income for my family and I. The calabash plant is transformed into a variety of craft from earrings, wall plaques, bags, bowls, flower vases and much much more. The coconut likewise also is transformed into a variety of wonderful craft necklaces, maracas (shak-shak), earrings, much and much more. A variety of seeds are crafted into amazing earrings and bracelets. My visits to St.Lucia allowed me to roam the beaches,hotels, and areas where tourist were which gave me an avenue to introduce my craft and produce income to sustained and my family and I now for the past 30 years. Now living permanently in St.Lucia,the island provides all materials needed to continue my craft business which is my only source of income. I hope you take a little piece of our craft back home where ever that may be and I say thank you
