Mdina, Malta is one of Europe's finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. It’s less than a 30 minute cab ride away from the capital city of Valletta, and is ABSOLUTELY worth the effort to get to! I loved it so much a few years ago that I purposely chose a cruise with a stop in Malta last summer so I could take my mom! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

The many stages of picture taking with a 12 year old! I save all of these bad photos too because it helps me remember not just some pretty bridge in Nuremberg, Germany; but the time and the feeling of that particular day. Traveling together as a family is rarely just about the places you visit. I’m sure I’ll look back at these when he’s older and still get a kick out of what a little jokester (insert punk 😂) he was!

Just finished a 2 week cruise sailing from Argentina to Chile, rounding Tierra del Fuego, through the Strait of Magellan and hitting the “end of the world” in Ushuaia, Argentina.
This is how my family does Christmas— no trinkets or junk to throw away— just quality time together seeing some of the most magical places on earth.

PRO TIP: Always buy the Spa Pass when you go on a cruise. Most cruise lines will have saunas, steam rooms, hot rock beds, different salt and shower rooms—- and some even have jacuzzis and therapy pools. They always cap the amount of people allowed in the spa, so while the other 2,000 people onboard are fighting for space in 3 or 4 jacuzzis at the pool (or are having to watch the dreaded belly flop contest)—- you can be in a quiet area with just a few people around. (I had this relaxation area all to myself!)
