17 years ago I had an idea, a website listing rv dump stations, today 17 years later, sanidumps.com is the largest, most complete website helping rvers find dump stations, dump points, sani dumps in the world.

Thank you to all the rvers who has given suggestions and those who have submitted updates. Sanidumps would not of grown without your support.

'What is the average cost to dump your holding tanks?'
I'm looking from the point of a customer that 'has to pay' (not free, not a registered guest, etc.)

Lowest: $1.00
Highest: $102.00
Mean/Average: $10.46
Median: $10.00
Mode: $10.00

Mode is most common, Median is the middle valure of the list, Mean is the average.

The Mean/Average has gone up from $10.22 to $10.46 this last year.

Did you know...

The mean (average) cost of dumping your holding tanks has risen from $9.04 in July 2017 to $10.25 in May 2022.

During the same time, the cost to visit all the dump stations listed with a price has gone from $36,226.45 to $41,192.52

What does Sanitary Dump Stations (RV Dump Stations, Sani Dump Stations, Dump Points) mean?

Means a properly designed and constructed facility intended to receive the discharge of wastewater from any holding tank or similar device installed in any recreational vehicle (RV), and having a means of discharging the contents, in an acceptable way, to an approved wastewater disposal system.

Dump stations are often used by owners of a recreational vehicle or boat that is equipped with bathroom facilities and a sewage holding tank, also known as a waste water holding tank, or black tank. The holding tank can be safely emptied at a dump station.

Please be nice to our environment and empty your holding tanks at a proper facility.

Last year we didn't, this year we did.

I just finished creating the new eBooks for 2021. Those who have purchased an eBook in the last couple months have had a new version sent to them.

Over the next few days I will be drawing the winners for the last year and sending them their eBook.

The two most common requests I've received are:

- Can I see locations that are open only? (Seasonal locations) Your listings are huge and this would be a great time saver.

- Can I see locations that are only Free?

Today we have improved our listing filters. You can now apply three different filters and the complete list to our listing pages and the map view of dump stations.

Hint - some regions do not have a Free and Open location available during winter!

Thank you to all the RVers for submitting this information to make the filters available.

Remember, we are a community driven website for sharing RV dump stations/points information.

Campfire trivia, in alphabetical order, the first city with a dump station in USA is Abbeville, AL while Zwolle, LA is the last city.

With winter RVing fast approaching us, a Sanidump user suggested to have the in-season filter, which is available for the listing pages to also be available for the maps pages.

Here's a example for Connecticut, with and without the filter applied.

Some more changes to the listings. The region listings now have a phone symbol for sanidumps with a phone number. The listing page has quick dial link, this makes it easier to dial with a call phone.

Sanidumps.com has been built like a jigsaw puzzle, a piece at a time. One piece from one person, another piece from another.

This year with COVID-19 I've been working on finding more pieces for the puzzle, with the help of many RVers who also submitted puzzle pieces we have added over 6,000, more pieces.

Sanidumps lists the nearest city for the dump stations. The nearest city for one location is over 70 miles (113 kms) away, this is in Northwest Territories. In Nevada there is a location 65 miles (106 kms) away.

At your next campfire ask your friends how far away is a dump station from the nearest city.

Why does Sanidumps.com list Closed and Private dump stations?

Closed locations - it's our way of communication that a place status has changed, it could be closed permanently or just temporary for many reasons.

Private locations - We do not know your needs other than you want to dump your tanks. You may also want a campground or just want to dump your tanks and some private locations permit dumping only.

Our goal is to list all locations and let you decide which place will meet your needs, Happy RVing.

Did you know that we do updates through out the year, summer time updates are completed daily, winter time is less frequent, the majority of all updates are completed within 24 hours.

Is there an update we have not received yet?

Where are you going next? We are planning trips for next year and a few more for this year. Remember that some dump stations will be closing for the season soon.

A small change to the information being displayed on the website.

For closed dump stations, we will not display any phone numbers for the location. As these phone numbers can be reassigned, we do not want someone calling the new holder of the phone number.

The detail pages will now include a Fax number if this information has been submitted.

Water and the different meanings on Sanidumps.com

- potable and rinse water (non-potable) available - two water sources, one for rinsing and one for potable (drinking) water

- rinse water (non-potable) available - only one source of water for rinsing waste water hoses etc., not recommended for drinking water

- water is available - we have received an update that there is water available but not what type, treat this as being rinse water, if potable is available please submit an update

- no water available - we have received an update that there is no water or water is no longer available

- no mention of water for the listing - we have not received any update with water information

When Sanidumps.com started (14+ years ago) websites didn't mention anything about water at a dump station, to our knowledge we were the first website to list information about water at a dump station

We welcome updates to our website for any missing or changes of information.
