UPCOMING LOCAL WORK
Gloucester area – weekend of 15/16 June, plus Sunday 23 June
Track renewal work will affect train services between Gloucester and Stroud or Bristol Parkway.
Trains will still be running between Stroud and Swindon/London Paddington.
Trains will also run between Gloucester and Worcester, plus between Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads.
CrossCountry trains will use a different route between Cheltenham Spa and Bristol Parkway – stopping additionally at Newport and Gloucester.
Transport for Wales train services via Gloucester will be unaffected.
Replacement buses (GWR) are planned between:
Gloucester and Bristol Parkway – stopping at Cam & Dursley and Yate
Gloucester and Stroud – stopping at Stonehouse (town centre)
Bristol to South Wales –
Wednesday 3 to Thursday 18 July,
plus weekend of 27/28 July
Track renewal and essential drainage work will affect train services between Bristol Parkway and Newport.
Trains will still run between London and South Wales by using an alternative route between Swindon and Newport – stopping at Gloucester instead of Bristol Parkway.
Trains will be running between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester or Cheltenham Spa for train services to South Wales.
Limited trains will run between Bristol Parkway and London Paddington in the morning and the evening – outside these times travel via Bristol Temple Meads.
This work will also affect train services between Filton Abbey Wood and Severn Tunnel Junction.
Unlike previous closures of the Severn Tunnel a very limited replacement bus service will be provided, so those travelling between Bristol and South Wales should travel by train via Gloucester instead

Network Rail will be carrying out major track improvements on the route between Gloucester and Newport. The work will take place from:
Monday 22 – Friday 26 July
Monday 29 July – Friday 9 August
Replacement road transport will depart from the following stations:
Gloucester – front of the station
Lydney – station car park unless otherwise stated on station posters
Chepstow – station entrance
Caldicot – shown on poster boards
Severn Tunnel Junction – station car park unless otherwise stated on posters
