I didn’t get to post this yesterday but I still need to say Happy Fathers Day to this guy. Earlier this year, we almost lost him. He went in for a routine surgery and got really ill afterwards. I know that we are lucky he is still here. I think about the role of a parent often. I am 43 and a mother of teens, yet, I still have/need my parents. My dad has been the consistent voice of encouragement in my life. He has encouraged myself, my siblings and my children to follow our dreams, be good people and to enjoy every moment. But I know that through his work in the community, there are many people who have received this same fatherly advice from him. The older I get, I have been proud to share my father in this way. And I am grateful that he is still here. For myself and the community he has created, we are grateful that he is still here to say, “you can do it.” Happy Father’s Day Daddy. The world is a better place with you in it. ❤️
