The government has rejected calls from local companies and agents abroad to increase the 15-day limit on Umrah visas during Ramadan, according to a recent report in a local newspaper.
In addition, the government said that it would not grant visas for individuals under 17 years of age if they are not accompanied by close relatives. It would also not issue visas for women under 45 years of age with- out mahrams or male guardians, the report said.
A source told the newspaper that the Ministry of Haj would grant visas to women over the age of 45 without mahrams provided they are accompanied by other adult women who would ensure they return to their home countries.

فیصل آباد (نمائندہ خصوصی) سعودی حکومت نے حرم مکہ میں توسیعی منصوبے کی وجہ سے ماہِ رجب ، شعبان اور رمضان المبارک کے لئے زائرین کے عمرہ ویزا کی مدت 30 دن سے کم کرکے 15 دن کردی ہے۔ وزارت حج وعمرہ کے سیکرٹری ڈاکٹر عیسیٰ بن محمد رواس نے کہا ہے کہ اس اقدام کا مقصد زیادہ سے زیادہ عمرہ زائرین کو عمرہ کی سعادت کا موقع فراہم کرنا ہے۔ سعودی عرب نے حج اور عمرہ کوٹہ میں تین سال کے لئے جس کمی کا اعلان کیا تھا وہ آئندہ سال حج سے قبل تک نافذالعمل رہے گا اور آئندہ سال عمرہ اور حج کوٹہ میں کی گئی کمی بحال کر دی جاے گی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عمرہ سروسز سے وابستہ تمام ممالک کے پرائیویٹ و سرکاری ادارے سعودی حکومت سے تعاون کریں اور عمرہ زائرین کی طے شدہ ویزا مدت میں واپسی یقینی بنائیں۔ سعودی عرب کی نئی عمرہ پالیسی پر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے ایسوسی ایشن آف حج آرگنائزرز کے مرکزی راہنما حافظ شفیق کاشف نے کہا ہے سعودی حکومت نے رواں برس ریکارڈ تعداد میں عمرہ ویزے جاری کئے ہیں جبکہ عمرہ سیزن بھی چھ ماہ سے بڑھا کر آٹھ ماہ کردیا ہے۔

لاہور(میاں اشفاق انجم سے)سرکاری حج 2015ء میں کھانا بھی شامل ہو گا،لاہور اسلام آباد پشاور سے حج پیکیج2015ء اڑھائی لاکھ،کراچی کوئٹہ سے 2لاکھ40ہزار رکھنے کی تجویز،سرکاری حج صرف ایک کیٹگری پر مشتمل ہو گا حج2015ء میں 143750عازمین فریضہ حج ادا کریں گے 50فیصد سرکاری سکیم کے تحت50فیصد پرائیویٹ سکیم کے تحت جائیں گے ،حج پالیسی2015ء کا اعلان مارچ کے آخر میں متوقع نئی ڈیڈ لائن آ گئی،سرکاری حج سکیم ہر سال جانے والیVIP شارٹ حج فلائٹ اس سال نہیں جائے گی ۔ حج پالیسی 2015ء کے اہم نکات روزنامہ پاکستان کو مل گئے جس کے مطابق سرکاری سکیم کے 72ہزار عازمین کا فیصلہ بنکوں کے ذریعے اپریل میں درخواستیں وصول کی جائیں گی ۔اس سال قرعہ اندازی ہو گی ،حج درخواست کے لیے ریڈ ایبل پاسپورٹ،نادرہ کا شناختی کارڈ جس کی میعاد31مارچ2016ء تک کے ساتھ درخواست دی جا سکتی ہے،پرائیویٹ سکیم کے 50فیصد حجاج کی بکنگ پرائیویٹ رجسٹرڈ حج آرگنائزر کریں گے، 50فیصد سرکاری سکیم کے حاجی براہ راست مدینہ جائیں گے اور 50فیصد براہ راست جدہ جائیں گے ،جدہ جانے والے واپس مدینہ سے آئیں گے اور براہ راست مدینہ جانے والے جدہ سے واپس آئیں گے ،حج 2015ء میں چار ائیر لائنزسعودی ائیر لائنز،ُپی آئی اے،شاہین ائیر لائنز،ائیر بلیو حج اپریشن مکمل کریں گی ،پرائیویٹ حج سکیم کے لیے اوپن سکائی پالیسی بھی زیر غور،اپریل میں سرکاری حج سکیم کی درخواستیں جبکہ پرائیویٹ حج سکیم کی درخواستیں15مئی کے بعدوصولی کی تجویز،حج پالیسی2015ء 20مارچ تک فائنل کر کے کابینہ کو منظوری کے لیے پیش کیے جانے کا امکان،حج پالیسی15مارچ کو اعلان متوقع تھالیکن ائیر لائن حج کرایہ فائنل نہیں کر سکی اور پرائیویٹ حج سکیم کا وفاقی سیکرٹری کی طرف سے 70کروڑ کیش کی موجودگی میں مزید100فیصد کیش گارنٹی کا مطالبہ اور پیڈ آف کیپٹل میں مزید اضافہ آڑے آ رہا ہے پیر منگل کو ہوپ کے ساتھ وزارت کے مذاکرات فائنل ہونے کا امکان ہے اس کے بعد ائیر لائنز کے ساتھ حج کرایہ بھی طے ہونے کا امکان ظاہر کیا جا رہا ہے۔وفاقی وزیر مذہبی امور سردار محمد یوسف کا کہنا ہے کہ ہمارے سارے سرکاری حاجی VIPہوں گے بغیر تفریق کے تمام سے مساوی سلوک ہو گا۔

The of Affairs & Interfaith Harmony is actively considering a proposal of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) to replace First-come-First serve formula with a for the selection of applicants under official scheme for 2015, said Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf.
Addressing the business community at FCCI, the minister said that the present government had taken a number of steps to improve Hajj operation in addition to facilitate the intending pilgrims. “It was due to our serious efforts that in Pakistan performing Hajj was cheaper to the tune of $345 as compared to India,” he pointed out, adding that now the ministry was striving to give more facilities to the “guests of Allah” in new Hajj Policy which would be presented before Federal Cabinet for approval by the end of this month. He informed that the Ministry was also pursuing the airline companies to cut down Hajj fares proportionate to decrease in POL prices. He also supported the demand for a Haji Camp in Faisalabad but said that it should be economically viable.
Sardar Yousaf claimed that the SCCI had offered a piece land for the construction of Haji Camp and “we are ready to consider such proposal from FCCI President if it was economically feasible.”
He also pointed out the issues of indiscipline of Pakistan pilgrims, saying that currently they were getting only two-hour training. He said that efforts are being made to give extensive training to the intending pilgrims prior to their departure to the holy land.
The minister informed that timings for Azan and Jamaat had been fixed in Islamabad and he also intended to introduce “Nizam-e-Salat” in other cities as well.
Responding a question regarding handling of Umrah issues, he said that it had already been entrusted to the private sector and after 18th Constitutional amendment its handling had been devolved to the provinces. He revealed that there was a proposal that Umrah operation should also be entrusted to the the Ministry of Religious Affairs. However, this proposal will require comprehensive legislation, he added.
On the occasion, MNA Mian Abdul Mannan recalled last year’s visit of Air Marshal Muhammad Yousaf of Civil Aviation Authority to Faisalabad and told that it was decided that new Faisalabad Airport would be built on Private-Public-Partnership on the pattern of Sialkot airport. In this connection Govt has also earmarked 25 Acre of land near Chak Jhumra, he said and added that number of facilities including Haji Camp, Custom Office, Air Cargo, Ware Houses, Business Houses and shopping arcade had also been proposed.
Earlier, FCCI President Engr Rizwan Ashraf in his welcome address assured that business community would take care of intending pilgrims voluntarily. He demanded FCCI representation in the Committee to be formed to look after the Haji Camp.

‘Moin be punished for visiting casino’
There seems to be no end in sight for Pakistan Cricket Board chief selector’s visit to a casino in Brisbane, as Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said on Monday that Moin Khan should be punished for visiting the casino during the World Cup.
“Gambling is haram and any Muslim taking part in it should be punished,” media reports quoted the federal minister as saying.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is paying Rs3.2 billion annually in debt-servicing and its total liabilities stand at Rs288bn, the Secretary Aviation Division informed the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday.

During the scrutiny of audit paragraphs on the accounts of the Aviation Division, Mohammad Ali Gardezi told the PAC that national flag carrier has 26 aircraft and 18,331 employees — or 705 people per aircraft. The global average is 150 to 200 employees per aircraft.

KARACHI: Bangladeshi authorities conducted a raid on the house of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) country manager, Ali Abbas, in Dhaka three days ago.

According to sources in PIA, a raid was also conducted on a PIA flight which reached Dhaka from Karachi on Wednesday, as the plane was searched for two and a half hours.

In response to the attitude of Bangladeshi authorities, PIA cancelled its flight PK-266, originally scheduled to fly from Karachi to Dhaka today.

The reason for the raid given so far was that Ali Abbas was allegedly smuggling currencies as well as gold.

Airline sources said that a detailed house search took place while the country manager’s family was also harassed.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that he has returned along with his family to Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam on Thursday said it had come to their knowledge that a raid has been conducted on the house of PIA appointed country manager in Dhaka.

Aslam said the High Commissioner of Bangladesh has been contacted and a reply from the Bangladesh Foreign Office is also awaited.

The FO spokesperson went on to say that no reason has been given to Pakistan so far regarding the raid.
