Marlaine Jones currently serves as the President & CEO of Earth Angels Childcare Centers (EACC). Located throughout southwest Ohio, EACC are state-of-the art childcare facilities serving the needs of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Marlaine Jones’ vision began when she worked in a church nursery and immediately realized she was drawn to young people. This passion quickly motivated her to pursue
a degree in early childhood education. She started her business March 2003 with the first EACC location in Germantown, Ohio. With just 10 children and a 6000 square foot building, Jones leveraged a financial investment from her grandfather to build a successful first-time business. Jones’ spirit of entrepreneurship comes from a foundation of big dreams and hard work. In 2010, she took another big step with the building and construction of her first location built from the ground up in Carlisle, Ohio, followed by a newly built location in Monroe, Ohio in 2012. This journey has been one of commitment and dedication, but also strategic leadership, focused on demographics and data. Marlaine Jones’ resume is built on her personal philosophy: “I’ve always been a person with huge dreams and huge goals. My personality wouldn’t allow me to work for someone else.” Today, EACC serves over 400 children, providing quality care, affordable rates and a professional and committed staff. To meet the needs of families, EACC also provides transportation, gated and monitored playgrounds, summer day camp programs, Spanish language classes and much more. Ms. Jones has over 10 years experience working with parents, staff, children and other providers. Looking back on her business journey, Marlaine Jones remembers moments when she felt the best answer would be to give up on her dreams, but a supportive father and aunt kept her focused on her dream. “There were family members and friends who said I couldn’t do it,” said Jones. “The well-being of each and every child is critically important to everything we do each day. To give one child a little love and understanding, even for a single day, CAN make a difference.”
Jones graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As the mother of two sons, she fully understands the physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs vary with each individual child. According to this self-taught entrepreneur, there is one basic principle that makes EACC different….”I care. I put children and families first. We don't say NO to families, we say YES!”
