🎵Mozart is still a rockstar🎶🎵
At least in Salzburg, Austria!!! Here in his hometown, his likeness is in store windows, on tee shirts, candies…literally everywhere!
We visited the home he was born at in 1756. Our visit started with an incredible piano demo on an instrument from the 1700’s (a Like Minds Travel exclusive) followed by an in depth tour of the home where they have a lock of his hair on display, his bottons, wallet and violin as well!

We 🎶Do Re Mi’d🎶 across Salzburg on our Sound of Music tour!
The classic movie was filmed in Salzburg and you can visit many of the sites they used when filming! It’s a very popular tour for American visitors, but the Austrians are happy to indulge us and even put a gazebo on the grounds of Hellbrunn Palace!

🇦🇹I seriously can’t get over how adorable Hallstatt, Austria is!
Nestled in the Alps near Salzburg, this tiny mostly car free village has BIG charm! Don’t be fooled by its size, you could easily spend a full day here exploring the salt mines, hiking the glorious hillside, sailing on the serene lake and meandering the tiny alleyways and streets. Plus, they boast one of Europe’s most unique cemeteries!!!
Don’t be afraid to leave the big cities and explore small town Europe! What are your favorite small towns???🇦🇹

Every now and then you visit a place that moves you to tears.
Our recent tour of Austria included a visit to Mauthausen Memorial , a place where history’s darkest moments stand as a powerful reminder. Walking these grounds I felt the weight of the atrocities that happened here and how important it is to honor those who suffered. May we never forget so that our future can be one of compassion and peace. 💛

🍺London has pubs, Vienna has cafes!☕️
Every local has a favorite cafe- like pubs they are meant to be an extension of your home. Meet friends, sip a beverage, stay awhile. The drinks are decadent as are the selection of pastries and the interiors are grand!
We had a coffee break at on our recent tour to Austria! Don’t miss it if you’re traveling to Vienna! And the best part- if you come with me you get to skip the line!

Did you know you can visit his studio in Paris? A must for any lover of haute couture! It feels as though he has just stepped away from his desk. The exhibits always rotate so there is always something new!👗

✨Was this the best day of the tour?✨
We arrived at in the afternoon and started with leisure time in the expansive gardens. Some went to the zoo on grounds, others got lost in the hedge maze, some just strolled.
We met back up for a little snack- Viennese style at our apple strudel making demo! Did you know your pastry dough should be so thin you can read through it? 😲
Then onto my favorite part- the palace tour with NO CROWDS!! That’s right- just our group so that you can actually take in all the details- and yes we tried our waltzing skills in that big empty ballroom. 💃🏼
We topped it all off with a delicious group dinner and a wonderful Mozart and Strauss concert at the palace- que “Blue Danube.”

So many delicious treats! I was actually surprised at how much I loved the food! I’m sad I didn’t get a pic of the best schnitzel, cheese spaetzle (a delicious elevated Mac n cheese) and the official drink of the tour- Aperol Spritz!
Luckily- I’m sure I’ll be back!!🍻🌭

Georgia O'Keeffe's life and work was the focus of the day. Her tiny adobe home in Abiquiu, did not disappoint! Basically everything in the home is authentic and just as she left it.
She said of the brown door on the patio, "The wall with the door in it was something I had to have." It took 10 years to acquire the dilapidated property, and several more to renovate. She added the large windows (not typically adobe architecture) provided stunning views!
Ms. O'Keeffe also brought the outside indoors for a very natural aesthetic. Rocks, twigs, and animal bones filled almost every corner.
We're ready to move in!!! ♥️♥️♥️
