🏃♀️ Running Tip: Your UPPER BODY & CORE Needs Strengthing!
Running isn't just a leg game, if you don't believe me Google it, or even better speak to a physio (they will tell you what injuries they see in runners!).
Nothing too crazy by 1 upper body workout a week could significantly help your running, here's why:
🌟 POSTURE: Lengthen that spine, open up the chest, and align those shoulders for a stronger running position!
🏋️♀️ CORE: Strong core allows for better balance and keeps your posture strong; strong core, less back pain!
🌬️ BREATHE EASIER: Stretching those chest muscles means the lung capacity can increase, making your runs feel lighter and more enjoyable!
🛡️ INJURY PREVENTION: Upper body strength prevents overuse injuries, keeping you running for longer!
**p.s I hate press ups and I'm not exactly the best at them but we move and move on 😉
A negotiable every day of mine is to get outside, I do it for me, for the people that come into contact with me and the dog! I am a better human after being outside 🌳🐶
Even in the British weather, I know the dog always wants to go out and explore, this helps with my motivation but even after a 10 minute walk it can make such a difference to my day and my productivity. Us humans were not meant to be inside in front of screens, we need to be more dog!
Some days I have hours to spend outside and other just a little bit here and a little bit there, on a busy day I'll just stand at the back door with the weather on my face and watch the birds land on the fence, this little action makes me feel better!
📸 Now on this day if I hadn't of been out running and gone left instead of right, I would have never have found this step, such a great find and the fact I could see so far brought great happiness. I now know where this is for anytime I want a viewing platform over Edinburgh. Next time you are out on a walk go left instead of right! ✨
