The Allure of the Seas is set for a $100 million upgrade in April 2025, Royal Caribbean International announced in a press release.
The refurbishment, which is part of the company’s Royal Amplified refit program, will see the creation of new venues and features onboard.

According to Royal Caribbean, after the update, the Allure of the Seas will offer more than 35 ways to dine and drink, as well as new bars, a new water park and upgraded pool decks.
The 2010-built vessel will also see the creation of new suites, as well as Royal Caribbean’s signature Ultimate Abyss slide.
The refurbishment will be completed ahead of the ship’s summer program in the Western Mediterranean, the company added.
Between April and October 2025, the newly amplified ship is scheduled to offer seven-night cruises to Spain, Italy and France.
“From the new Icon and Utopia of the Seas to now the more than $100 million transformation of Allure of the Seas, we’ve upped the ante threefold on the different ways vacationers can get away and make memories with Royal Caribbean,” said Jay Schneider, Chief Product Innovation Officer, Royal Caribbean International.
“Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travelers love. Between new favorites, like the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, and experiences that unlock core memories time and time again, from an incredible pool deck to an unmatched combination of thrills and ways to chill, Allure will have even more of everything that makes it a standout favorite,” he added.
First introduced in 2018, the Royal Amplified program included significant refurbishments onboard Voyager-, Freedom- and Oasis-class ships.
Allure’s sister ship, the Oasis of the Seas, was one of the vessels that underwent an “amplification” in 2019.
After debuting its new features in Europe, the Allure of the Seas is set to return to the United States in November 2025 for a series of six- to eight-night cruises to the Caribbean departing from Fort Lauderdale.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s recently announced plans for the 2026 spring and summer in North America include nine ships in the region.
Lets look at the highlights of the deployment, which will mark the company’s return to Philadelphia.
Return to Philadelphia
Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Homeport: Philadelphia (United States)
Highlighted Ports of Call: King’s Wharf (Bermuda) and Charleston (United States)
One of the highlights of Norwegian’s deployment for 2026 is a return to Philadelphia. As the first cruise line to sail from the port in over 15 years, the company will offer cruises to Bermuda onboard the Norwegian Jewel.
The season runs between mid-April and late August, with the vessel visiting King’s Wharf and Charleston as part of a series of seven- to nine-night itineraries.
U.S. East Coast, Canada and Bermuda
Ship: Norwegian Aqua, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Jewel
Homeports: New York City, Boston and Philadelphia (United States)
Highlighted Ports of Call: King’s Wharf (Bermuda), Bar Habor (United States), Saguenay and Halifax (Canada)
After completing its Bermuda deployment in August, the Norwegian Jewel scheduled to offer cruises to Canada and New England, alternating embarkation ports between Philadelphia and Québec City.
Norwegian is also deploying the Norwegian Aqua and the Norwegian Breakaway on the East Coast. While the new Aqua is scheduled to offer five- to seven-day cruises to Bermuda from New York City, the Breakaway will sail from Boston.
As the largest ship ever to sail from the port for Norwegian, the vessel will offer itineraries to Bermuda and Canada and New England.
Bahamas and Caribbean
Ship: Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Getaway
Homeports: Miami and Port Canaveral (United States)
Highlighted Ports of Call: Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas), Montego Bay (Jamaica) and Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic)
Norwegian is notably expanding its short cruise program with nearly 40 voyages onboard the Norwegian Getaway.
Sailing from Miami, the vessel will offer regular three- and four-night cruises that feature visits to Norwegian’s private island destination Great Stirrup Cay, which will debut a new multi-ship pier in late 2025.
The Norwegian Prima is also expanding its operations out of Port Canaveral, offering a series of seven-night cruises to the Western and Eastern Caribbean departing from its Central Florida homeport.
Alaska
Ship: Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Jade
Homeports: Vancouver (Canada), Seattle and Whittier (United States)
Highlighted Ports of Call: Victoria (Canada), Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau (United States)
According to Norwegian, its fleet will be the youngest in Alaska in 2026 with the Norwegian Jade joining the Norwegian Encore, the Norwegian Bliss and the Norwegian Joy.
Three vessels: the Encore, the Bliss and the Joy, will sail from Seattle for seven- to ten-night cruises to destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point and Victoria.
Debuting in a new homeport for the company, the Norwegian Jade will offer seven-night itineraries that sail between Vancouver and Whittier.

Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel, announced today that Norwegian Encore® will undergo extensive updates to deliver more elevated onboard guest experiences including a brand-new Spice H2O; the expansion of two popular dining venues, Cagney's Steakhouse and Teppanyaki; redesigned suites in The Haven by Norwegian®; and 24 new balcony staterooms.
Following Norwegian Encore’s two-week dry dock from Nov. 18, 2024 to Dec. 2, 2024, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a new Spice H2O, the adults-only, complimentary outdoor area tucked away from the main pool deck. Replacing the laser tag arena, the lounge will feature a new design and elevated layout from NCL’s longtime design partners, Studio Dado, by combining the guest-favorite amenities of Spice H2O from the Breakaway-Plus Class with those from Infinity Beach of the latest Prima Class vessels. Equipped with multiple hot tubs, eight large day beds surrounded by cooling pools and a large bar serving a variety of delicious cocktails, Spice H2O will be the perfect, outdoor oasis for guests of 18 years or older looking for a relaxing escape.
The enhancements will also include the expansion of two of the Company’s most popular specialty dining restaurants, giving guests more of what they want. Cagney’s Steakhouse, which recently won the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for its wine program; and Teppanyaki, the hibachi-style restaurant, will soon offer greater capacity by taking over Los Lobos’ footprint on deck eight and Coco’s on deck six. Additionally, Ocean Blue will be converted to the guest-favorite Palomar, boasting elevated Mediterranean seafood cuisine.

Resulting in the growing demand for the three-bedroom suites aboard Norwegian Prima®, Norwegian Viva® and Norwegian Joy®, Norwegian Encore’s Premier Owner’s Suites with a Large Balcony in The Haven by Norwegian® will be expanded from two bedrooms to three. Additionally, these two suites will include three and a half bathrooms; a fully renovated living room, master bedroom and outdoor balcony furniture; and a new separate dining room. The Haven by Norwegian® is the Company’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship, and keycard access only complex with dedicated experiences including concierge service, a private pool area, restaurant and bar. Similar to the recent refurbishment on Norwegian Joy earlier this year, Norwegian Encore will also debut from its dry dock with an additional 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms by repurposing a portion of the ship’s Observation Lounge.

Once the ship completes the two-week dry dock, Norwegian Encore will embark on a 12-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton, U.K. to Miami and then offer seven-day, round-trip sailings to the Caribbean through March 2025 with calls to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola; British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and NCL’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. For summer 2025, Norwegian Encore will sail seven-day, round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle, where guests can take in the lush landscape and vast wildlife of the Last Frontier.
