A stunning Santo blue hole for sure!

One of our local favourite snorkeling spot, Nanda/Jackie’s Blue hole, located in Espiritu Santo island of Vanuatu, South Pacific.

The natural spring water constantly flows through the lime stone.

14 meters deep and great snorkelling spot. It’s best visit during the low tides and the day time when the sun is up.

A piece of Santo history for those who often ask about WW2 on our island.

For those of you who haven't heard about the only casualty of a Japanese attack on Espiritu Santo during WWII, we bring you 'Bossie' the cow.

Santo was attacked six times by Japanese long-range seaplanes from Shortlands, between January and September 1943.

Bossie was the only casualty because, as her headstone reads, she was out walking around during a blackout when one of those attacks occurred. Photo Edward L Lechwar Collection.

Interesting WW2 history on Santo

We get so many questions at the museum about Million Dollar Point. It seems everyone was to know about it. The problem is, not much has been retrieved from the US Archives about it. In fact finding a photo of the dumping is impossible. We have seen one, but it was a copy of a copy of a photocopy or something. One day we will have to send someone there to find out more about it.

In the meantime, here's a shot of PART of the main equipment yard on Santo in 1945. We can assume this was all dumped in the ocean... and more.
