Dead Bread and Tamales Contest convened by the Huatulco Organic Market 2024

The Organic Market of Huatulco opens the call to the general public to participate in the First Gastronomic Contest of Dead Bread and Tamales, to be held on November 2 in the park of Santa Cruz, as part of the celebrations of the Day of the Dead.

The qualifying jury will consist of renowned chefs who will evaluate: flavor, presentation, preparation technique and story telling the recipe.

Roll call
1. You can sign up a recipe individually or collectively.
2. 5 pieces of bread or tamales to be presented: tasting and evaluation.
3. The recipes should be accompanied by some origin story.
4. Using natural and traditional ingredients from the region.
5. Registration closes on October 31 at 17:00.
6. The contest will be held on November 2 at 10:00 during the edition of the Huatulco Organic Market. Upon finalizing the participation of all contestants, the jury will announce the winners.

Interested candidates should request their registration through WhatsApp number 9581004879 or on this same page of M O H Mercado Orgánico de Huatulco by October 31, notifying in which contest they wish to participate and sending their full name, place of residence and a telephone number of contact.

Friends - the Rotary Club of the Bays of Huatulco cordially invite you to join us for a black & white dinner & dance fundraiser at 6 pm Saturday, November 23rd at the Naval Base. We feel privileged to be able to invite you to join us there. This is not (necessarily) a formal event, any black or white or combo will do. If you want to get creative have fun making a black & white costume, stores are full of Halloween ideas & props right now.

Cost per ticket is $500 pesos, only 160 tickets are available, & the event begins with a cocktail hour at 6pm, where a complimentary cocktail will be served, with dinner to follow at 7. A cash bar with wine, beer & sodas will also be available, however no hard liquor will be served.
