Attention Ohio citizens concerned about the quality of secondary education (Please read to end),
We need your help. The Ohio Department of Education is trying to increase current high school graduation requirements by obliging students to take one credit of computer science in order to graduate. This means that students will have less room in their schedules for things they love, such as art, band, orchestra, religion, and world languages.
If graduation requirements are increased so that students can’t take the classes they love, they will be more likely to flounder. We need to protect students’ right to study and excel in subjects they love – rather than continually forcing our students into a one-size-fits-all mold.
The new Computer Science Plan has been put out for public comment until August 17. Please take the following survey and choose "Recommendation #3" and give reasons why 1 credit of computer science should not become a graduation requirement.

Thank you for your time and help!
