At Oneworld Destination, latest insights report reveals that the average age of our private jet passenger last quarter was 38. A figure that is steadily reducing, down from 40 last year. With private jet charter becoming easier and more accessible, more and more younger business owners, entrepreneurs and families are changing the profile of today’s private jet traveller.
There can be a perception that private jet travel is the preserve of older generations. But that’s no longer the case.
Oneworld Destination Corporation has done the analysis of thousands of searches and hundreds of private jet flights over the August – October period. This is always the peak season for private aviation, with leisure travel boosting year-round business flights. But this was our busiest summer ever. Here at Oneworld Destination Corporation, we arranged 30% more flights than last year.
And industry figures, from intelligence provider WingX Advance, highlighted a returning confidence in the American market overall, with flight volumes during August nudging back above pre-recession levels for the first time.
With increasing instability in airline travel, new (and younger) private jet customers are entering the market – around 20 per cent of our customers are flying private for the first time. And those already doing so are flying more. It’s clear that confidence is returning to the sector, and new business models are making it easier than ever before to arrange private jet charter.
