The principality is very small, can be walked in about 20 minutes and also extremely clean! You can remove your heels 👠 at the end of a night out and walk back home barefoot in peace!
The Casino of Monte Carlo is gorgeous and definitely worth a visit!
It may also be on top of the list of places you don’t need to bring a wallet to if you’re a solo female traveller!

My first ever solo trip was to Australia!
It has some of the most pristine beaches and islands I have ever seen as well as wildlife you will not find anywhere else in the world.
Initially I wanted to backpack Asia but needed money so I got a working holiday visa to save up & explore the continent at the same time.
Back then I had no idea it would be one of the many one way tickets I would end up booking for the many years to come.
Most countries offer working holiday visas to those under 35, depending on your country of origin & I highly recommend taking advantage of them!!!

Going for a walk helps clear your mind they said & I took it too seriously 😂
After I heard about Camino de Santiago and its spiritual aspect, I decided to walk a portion of it, just 300kms over 10 days, no big deal.
While walking, I met some very interesting people, some of whom had been on the Camino for months!
Also the food and wine in Galicia is just 👌, so it might be worth visiting the region even if you’re not a big walker.

Great Ocean Road!! 🌊 one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world 🌍
Starting from Melbourne, the drive takes you along cliff tops and beaches and through lush rainforest. Along the way, you get to spot koalas 🐨 , kangaroos 🦘 and even whales 🐳.
Give yourself plenty of time and don’t rush! As you slow down, you will recognize and appreciate its beauty!

Islas Canarias!! ☀️🏝️⛵️
There are two capitals of this autonomous community, Tenerife on the west side and Gran Canaria on the east side.
I visited all the western islands during my time there: Tenerife, la Palma, El hierro and la Gomera!
Each one is unique in its own way but my favorite is el hierro! It is just so tiny, cute and untouched!
Funny story: the guy I was dating back then had a house in el Hierro & we went there at every opportunity we got, long weekends and holidays. Such a good escape from the crowds!

One question I get asked a lot from people considering setting off on a long term solo adventure is whether it gets lonely on the road.
Let me just tell you that the case is absolutely the opposite and sometimes I have to make a conscious effort to carve out alone time to just be with myself.
The world gets smaller as you travel and you end up knowing people in every country you visit, who are happy to show you around their hometown.
Even if it is your first time leaving your neighbourhood, as long as you keep an open mind and show an interest in other cultures, you soon realize how friendly everyone is.
And given today’s advanced technology it is easier than ever to stay connected with everyone.

Before making a decision I ask myself if it will make it a good story and if the answer is yes I just go for it #doitfortheplot. So when I heard about the eruption 🌋 happening in La Palma on the news, I immediately booked my flight there despite all the travel warnings, and I am so glad I did! Trekking near the lava flows and witnessing nature in its wildest form and beauty was beyond anything I could imagine and I will cherish the memories forever.
