✨ ASHLING ✨
Ashling Murphy was a beautiful, caring, loving, compassionate and warm-hearted person.
Ashling was a daughter, sister, girlfriend, niece, cousin, friend, colleague, inspirational teacher, talented sportsperson and an exceptional musician.
Ashling touched the hearts and minds of many people worldwide during her very short life and even after her tragic departure from us on the 12th of January 2022. Her name has and will continue to resonate with many.
The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund committee will support the family in always remembering Ashling for the beautiful, innocent person she was. Our wish is that Ashling will be remembered for the truly admirable and inspiring lady she was. The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund will continue to promote Ashling’s strong legacy and will ensure her name will be kept alive. Ashling’s legacy will continue to be fulfilled through the fund aims as outlined on our official iDonate fundraising platform available here -> https://www.idonate.ie/cause/AshlingMurphyMemorialFund
The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund committee expresses our deep gratitude for the high volume of messages of support received to date. The outpouring of support has not gone unnoticed during this incredibly difficult period.
The committee would like to acknowledge and commend the tremendous effots and support of An Garda Síochána, the prosecution legal team, Justice Hunt, the ‘Victim Support at Court’ team and all who were involved in the preparation for and in the proceedings of the case. We also thank the members of the jury for reaching their unanimous verdict. We further wish to thank the Family Liaison Officers, Sergeant Lucy McLoughlin & Detective Garda Alan Burke for their continued support to the family and friends of Ashling.
We are keeping all that Ashling was involved with in our thoughts - Ashling’s loving family, her devoted partner Ryan, her colleagues and pupils of Durrow NS, Ballyboy Comhaltas branch, her music students and fellow musicians, her local Kilcormac/Killoughey camogie club, her college and school friends, neighbours and any other individual, group or community connected to Ashling.
For the past 22 months, all who are directly involved with Ashling has waited patiently and cooperatively for the trial to be concluded. We are pleased that justice had been served. We can now individually and collectively continue this journey of grief which takes time with the main aim of keeping Ashling’s name forever alive.
We continue to request that our privacy and the privacy of the Murphy family and all other groups associated with Ashling is respected as we continue to grieve the heavy loss of Ashling now that the trial has concluded. To help further enhance the communication process with various media outlets, we request that you please let us know your proposed questions or thoughts/ ideas for what you may be planning via email [email protected] so we can communicate this with the Murphy family and respond to you in due course.
Although Ashling is no longer with us, she will be loved and never forgotten. Your support will help keep her name and lasting legacy alive.
