Everyone is enamored with the Crystal Beach Cyclone.

The Crystal Beach Cyclone, designed by Harry Traver, has achieved cult-like status in the amusement industry. It was crazy, almost taking a steel coaster design approach but using wooden coaster techology of the 1920's. The ride ran from 1926 through 46 and some of the parts were used on the Comet, which opened in 1948 and still runs today at the Great Escape. Only one of these rides at Six Flags Over Georgia & Hurricane Harbor still stands. The Great American Scream Machine still runs, but sadly the Sky Hook and Great Gasp are no more (my guess is that they are not missed by the maintenance department).

Happy Land on Staten Island, the park's look in this picture was similar to Coney Island in Brooklyn. Today Staten Island's only amusement park is the beach front Fantasy Shore Amusement Park.
