Our Story
If you’ve traveled with us on more than one occasion, thank you for trusting us with all your travel needs. If you are new to us, thank you for giving us the opportunity to create a trip you’ll never forget, and allow us to explain who we are.
Our story began in 2010 on that magical green island, better known as Ireland. It wasn’t some classic love story where we met and fell in love. I (Elena), newly widowed, decided to take a guided tour vacation in Ireland with my youngest daughter, Alyssa. All bags were packed and we were off. Shortly upon landing in the land of rainbows and leprechauns, we were met by our very Irish tour guide, Mr. Dick McBride. The trip was going well until Alyssa slipped in the bath injuring herself and I was left to attend the daily outing on my own. Dick, feeling sorry for the shy and quiet blonde sitting alone, invited me to join him for lunch, and then for dinner. It was after that day that it really all blossomed. Many Skype sessions and flights back and forth between countries followed after that. Four years later, we married in an Irish celebration in Killarney joining two families as one. Since then, Dick has become a U.S. permanent resident and calls Virginia his home. Very P.S. I love you, right?
We both embrace our love of travel and have made many incredible memories together in different places through the years, but our true love always returns to Ireland. It inspired us to create ‘Emerald Isle Connections’ to allow you to see our beautiful Ireland from your very own eyes.
