I'm turning 35 next week. To celebrate, my husband booked a last minute trip to Puerto Rico! We'll have 9 days to soak it all up: the vibrant color, history, beaches, rain forest, food, culture, and of course the sun :)

I'm one that reads the "story" of a place before we visit so I have a real sense of where I'm about to be. This place is rich with history and has a vibrant and lively pulse. Sounds like a pretty great place to turn the page and welcome the next year of life.

Virgin Gorda is a gem of a little island. Boulders meeting the ocean at The Baths makes it seem like another part of the world. If ever you have the opportunity to visit this place, do.

This is a great glimpse into the adventure of the BVI's.

Living in the midwest means tedious air travel to get to many of the islands. So being able to fly to St Thomas and then ditch planes in exchange for boats makes the Virgin Islands one of our favorite places to island hop. From nightlife to desolate private beaches, you can be one place one day, on a boat and to the next in no time -all while seeing some of the greatest views of the Caribbean by water. LOVE!

We're going on froneymoon!

Our dear friends are getting married in May and they've decided to forego the typical honeymoon and invited a group of friends to travel to the islands.

I suggested Visit Jamaica. Air is inexpensive, flights are short, and the vibe is dense & rich. Truly, the heart of the Caribbean.

St Barths // Dang you're delicious.

French folks take consumption seriously, and we went with it. Delicious food & DJ's mixing billboard hits with island vibes all day and all night. They start with coffee, then espresso, bread, food, drinks, more bread. Dessert and more coffee. This island was crazy and delicious. We couldn't understand anything anyone was saying, and we loved every bit of it.

Anguilla // Design + Architecture

Two spots w/ visual appeal that had me snapping pics [unfortunately with my phone]...

We stayed at Viceroy Anguilla. This place was robust! Textures & patterns of South Africa, swank of Miami, delivered with island comradery. And private plunge pools-super sizzlin'. For me, no one does texture and pattern mashing like Kelly Wearstler. She's insane.

We toured, dined, and met the launch team at Malliouhana, an Auberge Resort. The property underwent a 3 year renovation and opened its doors the day after we arrived on island. Island charm brought to the 21st century. This group recruited Chef Bearman from Michelin rated Rouge Tomate in NYC. Boutiques always win my heart.
