October is muskie month in northern Wisconsin and this young lady celebrated in style. Tenley brought in her first ever muskie - a nice 41” - with the expert guiding of her dad yesterday on the Wabikon & Riley Lakes chain. All done a few weeks before her 9th birthday!!!

Devin (her dad) caught a 46” later In the day.

Little did John & June Aschenbrenner know on October 4, 1947 that their special shoreline with 9 tiny rental cabins, a bar, 5 outdoor toilets (one a double seater), a generator, an ice house and lots of stories would still be going strong and loved by many.
Thanks for loving what we do at Johnnie's Resort and Piacenza's on Wabikon. It’s in the story, the family history and in our respect for them.

When you’re from Forest County, WI there are a few iconic spots. One of those is Whiskey Nick’s (Formerly the Liquor Lode) in Crandon, WI! We are proud to be able to make it full circle…that our gin (rooted in our Wisconsin Hard Maple Trees providing the base for our gin) is now on the shelves where it all starts! Cheers to all our local friends and thank you to and for bringing us home! 🍸 Forest County, WI!!!! Get it while you can because when it’s gone…it’s gone!

Piacenza’s on Wabikon

Welcome to our family retreat nestled on the water, in the north woods. Beautiful new build with history. Set in 1920 cabin footprints which have been family owned since 1947, these brand new handcrafted shoreline cabins are only 10 feet from the shoreline. Private deck for sunrises, star-gazing, spotting wildlife such as great blue heron, eagles, loons, trumpeter swans. Boat through wild rice; catch panfish, bass, northerns, trout or even a muskie. Fish, kayak, boat on a lake where the only splash is a diving bird or fish jumping. Get away to this undeveloped, protected northern Wisconsin lake and let nature take you away...
