I got to see Ötzi the iceman!!! I remember learning about him when he was discovered in the 90s and I’ve taught my kids about him, so when I found out that his mummy has a permanent exhibit in a museum in the Dolomites, near where he was found, I dragged my family to Bolzano. It was amazing to see a 5,000 year old mummy and all of his belongings so incredibly preserved. Plus a bonus that Bolzano was super cute!
Caught a warm day for our final “hike” of the trip. Cortina has so many good funicular options to get to the tippity top of these immense mountains with mobility issues. We made friends with an adorable group of nonni, who at 87 years young were still out enjoying the beauty. 🏔️☀️🏔️
There’s so many gorgeous mountains around here that it’s easy to overlook how cool with actual town is. Cortina D’Ampezzo has been a great home base, with views at every turn and many options to choose from for daily adventures.
Today we took the Tofana Cortina funicular to get up to 10,500ft. Although it was mostly cloud cover at that height, we had incredible views along the way and Jeff and Murr took hikes up to get some extra shots. We then went back down to 8,000ft for lunch and more amazing views. From the chair lift, we also got to see people constructing one of the events for the 2026 Olympics being held in Cortina.
Pictures can’t even begin to explain the expanse and beauty of the Dolomites. Every direction you look in takes your breath away. This is just under 9,000ft. 🏔️
Spending the week in a tiny little town, on the border of Padova and Veneto, so that we can relax by the pool during the day and explore places when it cools down at night. So far we’ve been to Vicenza, the Euganean Hills, and then back to Verona.
Explored Montepulciano this trip. It’s a quintessential CLT (cute little town). It has a ton of history, great views, and yummy wine. The historic Cantina DeRicci goes back thousands of years and is worth the visit! 🦔
The sunsets in Tuscany look like they’ve been painted. Humans and gattini alike appreciate the beauty.
Been relaxing in Tuscana the last few days. After visiting a few times and loving their wine, we decided to come stay at their agriturismo. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting the Montalcino area. If you’re in the area and looking for a nice dinner, visit for a delicious meal.
Bosa was the main CLT (cute little town) on my list for Sardinia this summer. It’s a stunning drive from Alghero to Bosa along the coast. If you’re on the west coast, it’s definitely worth the drive to visit.
Spent the week in Costa Paradiso. It’s a cute little beach community with pretty sunsets and wild cinghiale. The babies are adorable, but move too fast to catch in pics. The big guy in this pic wanted Murray’s pizza.
I’ve been trying to see Ludovico Einaudi for years on our trips to Italy and I kept missing him. This year, I made it my mission to get to one of his concerts and it was amazing! To see him in the Arena di Verona made it that much more special. He’s my favorite composer and pianist and his music is an experience.
Sardinia is filled with never-ending coves and inlets at every turn. The water colors change based on how the sun hits it, but every shade is gorgeous.
Had a great day exploring Asinara National Park today! If you’re in northwestern Sardinia, I highly recommend this tour. The gorgeous beaches along Stintino can be crowded, but from the boat, space abounds.

We got to see dolphins and the crystal blue waters of Sardinia, which constantly change their brilliant colors as the day goes on.

Spent our final night in Cisternino with our amazing adopted Apulian family. We had a delicious dinner and then went on a passeggiata that ended with music and dancing.
The best part of the video is the gorgeous Camilla in the background. ❤️
Had another fabulous lunch at Maria’s through the Trulli & Picnic tour. I can’t explain how delicious Maria’s food is. Everything is fresh from local farms and everything is homemade. If you are visiting Puglia, make sure to contact Francesco and set up a tour. It’s an absolute must!
Back in Puglia with our favorite people, backyard, and dessert tower.
Spent the last few days in Sardinia visiting the gorgeous beaches. Every beach has its own different shades of brilliant blue. We we definitely be returning to Sardinia in future summers. We’re now back in Puglia with our favorite people. ❤️
Porto Giuncò not only has a beautiful beach, it also has a marine protected area for the flamingos that live here! It’s not as isolated as some of the other beaches we’ve found, but still has that stunning water.
Went on a unique wine tour to a small vineyard in Villasimius today. Our best evenings are spent around a table with people from all different places.
We operate on two teams: Murray and I are on team shade and Cin and Jeff are on team sun. 🏖️☀️
Found another awesome beach here today. Go where the others aren’t and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings.
Back on a boat because of this incredible water! I can’t describe the different shades of blue around Sardinia. We moved to the east coast and had an awesome day with taking us to all the secluded beaches and grottos. It’s stunning here!
San Pantaleo has been a fantastic choice as our base for exploring northern Sardinia. The surrounding mountains are stunning, the main square is adorable, the Bellini are delicious, and the people are so friendly.
Went out to Tavolara island with to see more of the gorgeous Sardinian water. The water is so clear you can see the fish from the boat! This is a must do if you’re staying in northern Sardinia.
Went out on an awesome boat tour of the Maddalena Archipelago with today. I highly recommend them for your next adventure in Sardinia. ☀️ ⚓️
