No one going to see guests and their dogs in our holiday cottages - but guests can still see the valley views from the dog paddocks and sitting outside you will often see the Kites eyeing up a chicken dinner - but chicken dinner they won't get as we have had to adjust our hen area to protect them from being Kite breakfast, lunch or dinner but the Kites still check us out - may be beautiful birds but a pesky nuisance to us and our feathered family

Our compliant 1.5 meter solid fenced dog paddocks, we have 3 paddocks away from livestock so guests never have to worry there isn't a dog paddock available - 2024 moles moved in - if dogs dig up the mole hills - please give your dog a treat as a thank you from us - never ever had moles in the paddocks - pesky nuisance - hoping they move out and don't return 2025

01/01/2025

Last night I went to bed thinking about all our guests and new guests who are owners of XL Bully type dogs - sheer panic from several guests thinking with the then new XL Bully legislation we would not accept their beautiful, handsome gorgeous dogs - some whom had been returning guests for many years - we literally spent the last few days of that year and into the first few days of 2024 reassuring owners we would never discriminate against any dogs and whatever the legal requirements we too would simply also have to adapt - little did we know how much we had to adapt and although a rush with the assistance and guidance of our insurance company - adapted we did - in the main solid fencing and solid gates around the holiday lets and sadly muzzles for the poor dogs from holiday lets down the track into the dog paddocks - but once in the dog paddocks with the new solid fencing - no leads, no muzzles and adhering to that muzzle requirement car to holiday let on arrival/departure and muzzle holiday let to dog paddock- 2024 ran smoothly and many dogs had a happy holiday - SO - here is to 2025 being another happy place of no leads, no muzzles whilst having fun IN the dog paddocks - if however you have a jumper happy to pop over 1.5 meter fencing I am afraid you may need to use an extendable dog lead or sadly we may not be for you and your dogs - we are sorry but we are unable to increase the solid fencing height in the main the higher we go the worse it is during storms and high winds - one disadvantage being this side of the Valley, when we get battered we really get battered - to all those XL Bully dogs that didn't get a chance to live a long life due to the legislation, I thought of you last night and I so pray that no dog whatever its breed is unfairly punished due to the minority of dog owners who probably never should be allowed to have any pet in their possession

We DO NOT discriminate against any breed of dogs and we welcome you if you have an XL Bully, or a dog that looks like a Bully type.

We have rules for all guests with their dogs from the smallest dog to the largest of dogs, but of course XL Bully owners will know they need insurance and a certificate for their pet.

Here on our PRIVATE LAND, we allow all dogs to enjoy freedom whilst in the doggy paddocks with no muzzle or leads. To and from the doggy paddocks all dogs must be on leads and muzzled if so required.

We must ensure all our guests and their dogs are safe and our Terms & Conditions prior to arrival clearly state the above.

Our dog paddock fencing is just over 1.5 meter galvanised fencing with small squares so no dog can get their snout through the fencing into another paddock - there is one paddock per holiday cottage so there is no having to wait for the paddocks to be free. There is seating for humans, a dog water bowl and a carton in the cottage for you to fill with fresh water to take into the paddock

To our XL Bully Owners and potential new XL Bully Owner guests we look forward to seeing you again or welcoming you for the first time, to us you are simply "Dog Owners"

Wishing all our guests/friends/supporters - past, present and new guests due to arrive throughout 2025 a very Happy New Year - may 2025 be kind to you all and kind to your pets, less tears more smiles - we know how tough 2024 has been for so many - it for sure hasn't been our best year with so many losses - not only our friends and pets but also for our dear guests who have suffered similar heartache. It goes without saying our continued thanks and love to you all for supporting us throughout our hard times, for supporting us with reservations and recommendations - we really do have the best guests and their gorgeous pets who many return year after year - thank you

Christmas Eve Boo was struggling but the vet came out and we gave her a chance to rally, rally she did and had a lovely Christmas Day - a huge thank you to our guests and in particular to our Folly Guests who took some lovely photos of all the animals and sent them to me whilst I am unable to go back and forth, all the animals have had Christmas treats (actually every day like Christmas with our guests spoiling them all), Boo in her rug was walking with her donkey family and had a lovely day - sadly this morning she was down again and her back legs totally given up - we knew it was a matter of time and would never want her to struggle - today we had to make that awful decision - she couldn't get up but she was merrily eating treats and feed and all things a donkey wouldn't normally be allowed - but allowed she was today - so glad she enjoyed yesterday and thank you Michelle for the photos and just thank you everyone who visits and spoils all the animals on site - another loss for us this year, it has been utterly relentless but then the animals like us are just getting old

23/12/2024

Thank you for the photos - our lovely regular guests here again for Christmas in The Folly Cottage - last time was pesky covid years just before during or after so this year less stressful for everyone - although having had surgery not so long ago what did I come home with - covid - hence our page has been a little quiet and sadly I am not able to see our lovely guests or doggy guests - thankfully the cottages were ready and others kindly helped to make sure the final bits and pieces were completed - electricity back to normal after the storms but we have several Plans in place should we have that type of situation again - for now all is good, no rain, no gales, no snow - ho ho ho - by hook or by crook we have kept going thanks to friends helping out and even guests helping out and we are as usual forever grateful to all who support us, help us, cry with us and laugh with us - this year has a been a little pesky - health issues humans and some of the animals of which some of our pets did not survive but they had reached grand old ages - many have helped this year in so many different ways - THANK YOU

10/12/2024

We are still here and holiday cottages and static ready for Christmas and New Year Guests - the Storm sadly took out a few trees, trashed fencing and took a likening to the corner of our house roof HOWEVER where guests walk, the dog paddocks and entrance to properties we are neat and tidy and the damage is out of sight - behind or to the side of our house so does not impact on guests. Today we have electricity as been off since Saturday morning but lesson learnt - you cannot live in the Countryside without a generator - generator ordered so should this happen again holiday cottages will have a fridge/freezer, heating, hot water and cooking facilities, lights will be battery candles and torches but hot tubs will not be provided during a power cut (we will refund payments for hot tubs if booked and cannot be used - which we do as a back up in any event) - due to my health situation it is highly unlikely I will see anyone until after the New Year but someone is always on site 24/7 - messages, texts and emails will be responded to at some point today provided internet doesn't drop - we have had no forms of communications at all since the Storm, can now and then see things coming through via mobile phones but unable to respond, so a bit of a catch up and I haven't the energy or able to sit for any long periods of time to hit it hard and respond to people in one go right now, apologies - but we will get back to people today
