I know a lot of you are getting itchy feet. You're feeling that wanderlust but you can't do anything about it. You're feeling a bit trapped, a bit stir crazy. And you're not the only one.
🌏
Something that helps me is daydreaming about trips to come in the future! Because eventually, this will pass, and we'll be able to wander again. Sometimes planning that adventure is enough to push back the wanderlust just enough to stay sane!
🌏
To help with those itchy feet, I just posted a new blog post, The Ultimate 2 Week Costa Rica Itinerary! I've planned the perfect Costa Rican trip down to a T, and if you need something to help feed that wanderlust until we're able to safely travel agin, give it a read and try planning your own trip!

It's so wild looking back at this photo, taken last June, and knowing this cave is gone. It would have melted away months ago, sometime last summer, and a new one would have taken it's place somewhere else. That cave will soon melt too, making room for the next one, and the next, and the next.
🌏
It's an interesting reminder that change, whether big or small, is inevitable, and all you can do is just go with the flow. Especially during strange times like these

Dragonglass, a mix of glacier ice and volcanic ash. Obviously, a rare thing to come across, even in the bizarre country that is Iceland.

There are plenty of glacier ice caves tours you can take, but this one was truly unique from the others, which is exactly why we decided to do it. You can find ice caves all over the place, but no where else in the world can you find one mixed with with volcanic ash. No where else in the world can you find Dragonglass.

Don't worry, I'm still alive! 😂

Just relaxing in the Blue Lagoon after weeks of camping in Iceland.

A lot of people choose to do the Blue Lagoon first thing, but I actually think it's better to do it last, for two reasons! First, when your muscles ache from exploring the bizarre landscape and your bones are cold after constantly being buffeted by the harsh winds, it is the perfect way to relax, unwind, and warm up before heading home. Secondly, the silica in the water actually does some strange things to your hair, and can make it stiff. I could not have imagined trying to deal with my weird stiff hair while camping for another two weeks.

We hung out at the Blue Lagoon the morning of our flight, and we are very happy with that choice. .

Yamnuska Wolf-Dog sanctuary is a non-profit organization that gives a safe home to wolf-dogs who are in need of rescuing, whether because they’re being neglected or they’ve been abandoned, like this fluffy boy here. Wolfdogs are often too doggy too live in the wild, and too wolfy to live in households, so with nowhere else to go, they end up at the sanctuary.

Nothing makes jet leg more confusing then the midnight sun!
I've mentioned Iceland's light nights before, but I still can't get over it! This was our first night in Iceland, and this picture was taken at 12AM. We knew this happened in the summer but didn't expect to actually catch it ourselves, since we were there in early June. And let me tell you, being jet legged with a midnight sun made it almost impossible guess what time it was 😂

From within the bowels of a glacier, streaked with ancient ash.
Iceland is full of glaciers, and as they melt, the water running through them create tunnels. These tunnels can be explored, though you need a guide to do so. It's best to do them in the winter so you can see them in all their glory. By May they were already starting to melt around us, and apparently in a month, this one will be gone! So if you want to see one of these ice caves, don't go in mid-summer!

Heellllloooo everybody! So, now that our wedding is over, we're back from our crazy honeymoon and life is finally normal again (as normal as it gets, anyway) I'm going to be pumping out a lot of new awesome content for you!
Every week there will be a new blog post and a new video all about making the most out of your limited travel time, with how to's, reviews and of course a look into my own adventures!

BTW, this photo was taken on top of some really neat hexagonal columns in Iceland. If you want to visit a place with the most bizarro landscape, then Iceland is definitely for you 😛 .

New Blog Post: Riding The Banff Gondola - Hit it Or Skip It?

Fun Facts:
• The mountain the Gondola goes up is called Sulphur Mountain.
• It takes 8 minutes to reach the top. The lift moves at 10-13 ft per second.
• Originally built – September 1958 to July 1959, Reconstruction – November 1997 to February 1998.
• There are multiple hiking trails ontop of the mountain, including the self-guided interpretive Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk to Sanson’s Peak on which you can follow in the footsteps of Norman Sanson, who walked to the top of the mountain about every week for 30 years to check the weather.
• The Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk is 2900 ft above Banff. There are restaurants, a theater, and an interactive kids area.

New Video! My review of Dog Sledding in Banff, Alberta.

Fun Facts I learned:

- Dogs p**p while running.
- Dogs need to learn to lope which is the most efficient form of running while mushing.
- Some dogs can only run sideways towards the left, others only go towards the right, just like we’re left handed out right handed. Also like us, some dogs can be ambidextrous. It’s important while picking your dog team that you keep in mind each direction each dog likes to run.
- Siberian Huskies are the more well known huskies, which are fluffy and bigger. But it’s the Alaskan huskies, who are more smooth coated and agile, that do more of the mushing

New Blog Post!

The sunlight sparkles golden through the pine trees, the brisk breeze of winter kisses our cheeks, and the utter silence of the Canadian forest is broken only by the crunch of snow under our sleigh and the happy panting of the running Huskies.

Fun Fact: The dogs are trained to p**p while running. What a handy skill.
