Summer 2015 has been great, and we only have a few more weeks to go. We had quite a few "repeat customers" this summer, and people are booking for next summer already!

We are in the final phase of cottage prep! Our first guests of the season arrive this weekend. They are regulars, and we are sure they will notice some nice changes in the Fox and Vines cottage.

Things are starting to come together here at Foxfield. Painting is done, appliance maintenance is underway, new windows have been ordered, and the Fox and Wing cottage ( #2) has new wainscoting. Some cottages have new furniture, too!

New paint in all cottages! Fox and Dame and Fox and Wing (Cottages 1 and 2) are completely repainted inside, and Fox and Vines (Cottage 3) bedrooms and trim have a fresh finish too. We're really pleased with how they look!

Painting in cottages 1 and 2 will start on Monday! I just chose some colours, and I hope they will look good. More exciting news will be announced on Tuesday!

A few cottage upgrades are underway! Bathroom renos in Cottage 2, and hopefully all of cottages will be getting some new paint in the next few weeks.

Spring time is typically when we begin preparing the cottages... however, this year, there is still so much snow! The snowblower came yesterday to clear the cottage driveway, and could only get to Cottage 2 before the snow was too deep to continue. We can't wait to see some green grass and red fields.

I took some quick walk-through videos today. I used my phone, so the focus and lighting is a bit wonky, but you can get a better sense of the size and layout of the cottages.

This is Cottage 1. It needs some work and lots of paint, but it's still a cozy little cottage. Hopefully by next summer it'll be much improved!

This evening, I went to see the UPEI Climate Lab presentation on sea level rise and shoreline erosion. I was impressed at the community interest... 52 people attended the presentation and everyone asked really great questions. The data indicates that in 90 years, Foxfield will still be high and dry. I guess we'll have to wait a little longer before we can be considered "oceanfront property".

Our cottages are already filling up fast for next years Cavendish Beach Music Festival!

We made it through the storm! We lost a few small branches, but we didn't lose power. Our guests were a bit disappointed by the cancellation of the concerts, but they hunkered down in their cottages and are now enjoying today's nice weather.

I hope our guests are ready for the storm today, especially at the concerts. Just some light winds and rain so far, but I'm sure it'll get worse. I hope we don't lose power!

I've been in and out of the cottages all day, getting them ready for our guests this week for Canada Day and Cavendish Beach Music Festival. Every time the screen doors close behind me, I realize I'm jealous of the people who get to stay in the cottages!
