From Henry about this image:

STACKED/BLEND

Orion rising over the Eureka Dunes, Death valley, Ca. September 24th 2022. After returning from shooting the MW up on the dunes, I put in a fresh battery and set up this star trail near my campsite. It ran for 7+ hours, but I only used the frames up to the point when Orion left the frame so as not to cover it with other trails. I shot the foreground frames before starting the star trail.
Nikon Z7 astro+ha mod by Spencers, NikkorZ 50mm f/1.2.
Sky: 95 frames, 180 sec., f/2.8, ISO 400. Stacked in StarStaX.
FG: 5 frames, 180 sec., f/2.8, ISO 800. Stacked in PS.
Blended in PS, edited in LR.

From Eileen about this image:

Went on a quick trip up to the Ancient Bristlecone Forest in the Eastern Sierra midweek and no one else was there. First night out was difficult- wearing a winter down coat and hiking at 10000+ft and it got to me. It rained the next day (that rain ended up hitting Death Valley pretty hard) but the skies cleared at night and this time I ditched the winter coat and didn’t have any trouble hiking up to the Schulman Grove. We spent several hours there photographing the Milky Way before moving over to face north and get the star trail. We kept seeing flashes of light and realized it was dry ground lightning. I love how it made the clouds, that weren’t even visible to us in the dark, pop!

[🌀Cornfield Rotation🌀]

After the mount finally ran last night, I put my other camera in the field and made some nice StarTrails again. You always have to be a bit careful that no animals approach the camera. From time to time a raccoon would come and see if everything was ok. 😆🤣
This time 27 pictures of 5 minutes each, ISO 800 and f/5 were taken with the Nikkor Z 20mm f/1.8.

Unfortunately, no Perseide has immortalized itself on the individual frames.
Comes well into the new week! 😉

Here’s a vibrant 3.5 hour star trail image! I've made it a personal mission to take a star trail shot where I let the camera run until the battery dies… Even went home for a little while as it was shooting. But as usual, I was ready to call it quits long before the battery was. One of these days I’ll win, haha.

From Tuhin about this image:

STARTRAIL/FOCUS STACKED/BLENDED

Startrail at Judge's Shack, Island Beach State Park, Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, USA.
This was not at all intended for startrail. I kept my camera running with intervalometer to capture the milkyway rising.

Didn't bother initially to process the startrail as the sky exposures was not optimal along with the total duration of the capture.

Still tried after a long time and to my eye it looks kind okay. What do you think about it?

EXIF:
Camera - Nikon D780
Lens - Nikon 14-24 f2.8
Sky Exposure -
Focal Length - 22mm
Aperture - F/3.2
ISO - 6400
Shutter Speed - 10 seconds
Foreground Exposure -
Focal Length - 22mm
Aperture - F/4
ISO - 1600
Shutter Speed - 120 seconds
Total 150 frames are used to create the startrail (sky frame).
Total 9 foreground frames are focus stacked to reduce noise and increase sharpness across the frame.
Then stacked sky frame and stacked foreground frame blended together.

STACKED / BLENDED

Story:
I finally managed to combine this motif with the startrails 3 nights ago.
The night was beautiful, clear, and slightly less light pollution than usual. At least that's how it seemed to me. 🙂

In addition, I was treated to a lot of Perseids, the strongest ones can be seen in the photo. I saw and photographed more of them than in the last couple of years.
A total of 2 hours and 15 minutes of exposure.

The star lapse circle

Stack and blend

Story: Beside chasing the Milkyway, another fun thing to shoot on my last star party was shooting a star trail. For the last two years, a bunch of star loving people started organising star party in Bangladesh 🇧🇩, a small south Asian country. I was lucky to join with them Like last year, this year also we selected Sajek to held our star party as it is an excellent dark sky sight and a class 1 bortle zone. Hope this star party will continue in our country in future and will be able to join with them every time.
